Very nice to see ALMA debuting here, the song immediately clicked with me. Enjoying all three Noah songs in your Top 10!
It's a great tune for sure and I'm so, so happy to see Kim finally having mainstream success. Though I would've preferred other songs from her doing so.

Yas, definitely a big surprise coming from her as it's been a while since I cared so much about a song from her. Also nice to see this entering more and more personal charts here <3

And yay, so glad to see some love for Noah. She's so underrated and I'm surprised why. She finally found her own sound with the album and it totally clicks for me. Especially I Just Want A Lover screams to be a hit single - kinda a more Pop-y Lana Del Rey.

Besides the singles, my most-played Plastic Hearts songs are "Never Be Me," "Gimme What I Want," and the title track. (Looking at last.fm now, I'm surprised "WTF Do I Know" isn't higher, since I remember liking it a lot too). Don't leave out "Adore You" from Bangerz, though! (I've always had a soft spot for that one - it went to No. 1 on my chart).
Yes exactly, and Taylor releasing Reputation and starting it with Look What You've Made Me Do & its video just felt so right back then. Side note, but I actually miss these times, I feel like that was the last time a video release was such a huuuuge event.
Ah ok, so I assume "autumn" would be the "proper" one?

So we share some faves there <3 I also really enjoyed the title track and I feel like it could have been a great single too!
Yes yes, Adore You was also a #1 on my chart (yay for it being one on yours too!) but I always think of it like a "lost single" that no one cares for these days

I just hope she won't be another Zara Larsson situation because looking at how both singles performed so far, I'm slightly worried. I was hoping for another Dua Lipa case... thank god she got a hit with The Motto at least, but Million Dollar Baby is still doing poorly on streaming... fingers crossed they will still stick to the early 2023 release date though! Another reason why pushing it back was smart - the last quarter of the year is always too busy and competitive, while early year is usually the opposite.

      Ah, got it!

I'm honestly surprised how unfamiliar I am with her discography, because I'm familiar with her name / her as a singer for so long now, but guess I just never checked out her stuff after all and if I did, it didn't leave much of an impression. With that being said, I just checked out Please Don't Touch and it sounds great! Slowly starting to feel I missed out on a lot of good stuff by never checking her out more...

Good to hear that there's still some stuff on their albums that you enjoy musically as well! But I see a pattern in their singles, and I'm actually surprised they keep releasing similar sounding singles when they would have so much more to offer.

Ok, fair enough and good points actually. Maybe it's just the part inside of me that loves to do my personal charts and with just official singles being allowed to my singles charts, her showing there has been rather underwhelming as I wasn't the biggest fan of most of the official singles, and I would've loved to put Holy, Your Age, Imagining or other faves high up that chart. But yes, you're absolutely right about being able to discover some more gems going into the album, makes for a much better listening experience!

I definitely wasn't expecting this level of success for their collab (it's especially mind-boggling that THIS is becoming Kim's long-awaited mainstream/official chart breakthrough, but better late than never)!
      • I was just thinking about that new ALMA song thanks to flopho's chart, so I should add it ASAP!
      • In the opposite situation of Sam & Kim, I'm surprised and disappointed that "Star Walkin'" isn't off to a stronger start on official charts coming off three big global hits from Montero. (Maybe it was too soon? His videos tend to help his singles a lot too, and I'm not sure there's plans for a proper/non-animated vid for SW).
      • Well, Rina may have lost the Album Crown, but at least she's still dominating Bubbling Under!
Yet another chart that gave me what I want, Tancel!
Yeah, it feels somewhat weird to see this being such a huge hit right away and especially for Kim, who never ever charted on most official charts out there (fun fact, Switzerland is one of the very few countries she already charted officially, as she was featured on a song by Kygo <3). From what I've seen this is yet another TikTok success, so having a hit / doing promo on that platform keeps being the best way to success these days. Anyways, you say you're not loving Unholy as much as you've loved other songs by them, so I hope the song becomes a grower for you

Yes, I think Alma has never (or rarely) been that strong, definitely a big, nice surprise coming from her! And I love to see how it reaches several personal charts at the moment

Did you forget about Late To Da Party? Lil Nas X already released a new single around three months ago and people didn't care for it at all, so Star Walkin' isn't his first single coming from the Montero era. I think he's all about the gimmicks and if he doesn't find one that is working, then the song is also not working on the charts.

She still does! Truly a highlight of the year!

By the way... I really recommend Noah Cyrus' I Just Want A Lover (current #1 on my singles charts). Not sure if you already checked it out & maybe didn't like it hence no comment yet, but if you haven't checked it out yet, please do. Somehow I feel like you may like it (and I'm just curious to hear what you think about it ).

      Thank you so much!

Decent debut for "Star Walkin'". The song's honestly better than I thought it'd be.

Ah, understandable. She's still rather unpopular so I'm surprised they are charging too much for the tickets.

I'm having mixed feelings about Star Walkin'. There's something about the song that I really enjoy, but somehow I end up skipping it way more than I should. Glad you're enjoying it though, and it's surely better than Late To Da Party!

Also yay so glad you're enjoying I Just Want A Lover too

I thought it was weird as well so I decided to go to the venue's site directly, instead of Ticketmaster, found a decently-priced ticket, and I'm seeing her next month!

So we share some faves there <3 I also really enjoyed the title track and I feel like it could have been a great single too!
Yes yes, Adore You was also a #1 on my chart (yay for it being one on yours too!) but I always think of it like a "lost single" that no one cares for these days
Too true (maybe if Bey had actually given us a video alongside "Break My Soul," that could've been a major moment) I really liked the art style of the LWYMMD lyric video too.

Ha, yeah, although I'm glad we both adore "Adore You," it did kinda kill the momentum Miley had going after "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball" (it was weird to follow that up with another ballad, especially when Bangerz isn't exactly a ballad-heavy album).

With that being said, I just checked out Please Don't Touch and it sounds great! Slowly starting to feel I missed out on a lot of good stuff by never checking her out more...
Ha, no worries, UKMIX makes me feel that way about artists all the time There's just too much under-the-radar talent out there, and not enough time...

Ah, that makes sense (being annoyed that those songs will never get a chance to properly chart now, after the single opportunities were wasted on some "lesser" tracks like "Phantom").

I think he's all about the gimmicks and if he doesn't find one that is working, then the song is also not working on the charts.
I completely did I remember him being annoyed at BET, but I totally forgot that he actually released a new song to go with that "beef." I get that being kind of a troll is part of his brand/appeal, but that release really didn't do his momentum any favors (granted, both that and "Star Walkin" might be completely forgotten by the time he releases his next proper lead single, and maybe that'll be for the best).

Not sure if you already checked it out & maybe didn't like it hence no comment yet, but if you haven't checked it out yet, please do. Somehow I feel like you may like it (and I'm just curious to hear what you think about it ).:
...maybe it'll be a grower for me I don't want it to seem like "well of course the American doesn't like a song criticizing America," because my most-played song of the year (Ethel Cain's "American Teenager") also touches on some serious American issues, just in a way that hits me a lot harder. Several other UKMIXers are really enjoying "I Just Want A Lover," though, so that should help it continue to do well on the UKMIX Parade!
                    • That Top 2 "Cuff It" debut!! SO glad Bey's team is (finally) doing something to officially push this gem
                    • I would've loved to see "Unholy" earn the double UK-US No. 1, but No. 3 on the Hot 100 is still a huge deal for both Sam & Kim, so I can't be too mad
                    • Björk's usually a tad too challenging/avant-garde for my basic-poppy palate, but I do like the ending/climax of "Atopos"
                    • "Beach House" putting an end to Carly Rae's certification drought!
                    • I never got into "Fever," but I really enjoyed Angèle's "Libre," and so far "Amour..." feels somewhere between those two for me
                    Yet another lovable chart, Tancel!

                    • Great top 3 overall! Beyoncé one is shining for me now.

Some nice stuff in the bubbling under chart, namely Paramore.

Ah yes, the lyric video for LWYMMD was great too! btw... only two more weeks to go until Midnights comes out! I'm soooo excited, what about you?

Still somewhat mad how that era ended so quickly after that. Poor single choice and there would have been so many more songs on Bangerz that could have been singles AND big hits. What are your faves on there?

So true Sometimes I wish I would have like three additional days a week to listen to all the stuff that's out there - but then how would I compile a chart with all that? There's this New Music Playlist on Apple Music every Friday and often times I wish I would have the time to listen to the whole playlist, but they always have 100 tracks and the one from today has a duration of over five hours

Yep, absolutely. But hey, we never know, maybe we will get another single at some point and then she will surely choose a fan favorite, and from what I've seen that really could be Holy. But it's also not usual to get five singles prior the album comes out, all with videos and even single artworks (something that has become more rare these days, but I like single artworks so much).

Well as I thought; so that song ended up as a surprising flop, so I feel like even though he scored three big hits with the Montero album, he's still not a reliable hit maker. I think he will make sure his next lead single will have as much momentum as possible again.

First, no worries, I would never think of you not enjoying a song like that due to the lyrics (and yes, I know you had similar themed songs being super successful in the past). Second, thanks for checking it out! Somehow I thought that sound may be for you (kinda a Folk-ish uptempo Pop song), similar stuff already did well for you in the past + I know you like Miley so maybe the tone of Noah's voice could've been a plus too. Plus I'm just such a fan at the moment, I need to make advertisement because Noah's so underrated

As you maybe still know, Cuff It has been my favorite song of Renaissance right from the beginning, so I was super pleased they actually picked that one to be the next single & it's already doing really well on the charts out there. That's also something unreal, I mean, even though Beyoncé had some hits on the charts, it's been a while an album from hers served more than just one big hit - and Renaissance seems to be doing just that! Now we just need a video...

#1 for Unholy would've been great in the US, but agreed with you that #3 is still fantastic - especially pleased for Kim!

Glad you like parts of Atopos! Yes, Björk's music needs a lot of time and sometimes spending that time is really worth it (like for her albums Homogenic, Vespertine or Vulnicura), but sometimes I also just can't get into her music.

Finally <3 Sadly, it seems to be an exception of the upcoming album for me, as Talking To Myself didn't do as much, and the new song from today does even less for me so far But still looking forward to the whole album, Carly never disappointed with her albums so far.

Oh, surprised to hear that about Fever - but still nice to hear you're familiar with some of Angèle's songs nonetheless! She's such a huge star in the French speaking countries (including over here in Switzerland) and she keeps delivering some nice tunes for sure.

                        Thank you so much

Cuff It is such a banger, so happy they chose it as the next single & it seems to become such a big hit for Beyonce!

Paramore's comeback is nice and I was really looking forward to it - but truth be told, I'm actually a bit underwhelmed. As a Rock fan, I somehow would've loved them to go back to Rock.

                                    • Måneskin's song feels very mid 2000s alternative/emo to me.
Amy Shark's "Only Wanna Be With You" really touched me with this The Cure-ish guitar riff.
Nice to see that Pia Maria has not given up on making it in the music biz.

                                        • Oh, Lindsey has another Christmas album out? Oh, I'll have to check it out but not until Nov. 1

I did check out Snow Waltz based on Akini's comments, and I have to say the video is a really clever way to promote a Christmas album in October. Very Nightmare Before Christmas, with the horror in seeing the adorable puppy and retelling of the Santa Claus story.

Yet another chart with Noah Cyrus's song - wow, i had no idea people were embracing her so much on here!

Strong approve of Black Mascara holding on to top 10 placement - did she see her latest video for it?

Amy Shark's "Only Wanna Be With You" really touched me with this The Cure-ish guitar riff.
Nice to see that Pia Maria has not given up on making it in the music biz.
It truly does - in a good way! It's actually nice to see an Eurovision winner holding up like that

Glad you really enjoy Amy's new song! It's not doing just as much for me yet.

True! I like her songs so far, but there are too many other even better tunes out at the moment, so she kinda gets lost in the shuffle.

Thanks for checking it out and awesome to hear you're enjoying it! You're totally right - well, but not for an upcoming release, as the album with the same name came out last week as well (see her debut at #1 on the album charts ). Also you're totally correct with the spooky and dramatic sides of the track, Lindsey already said she picked this song as the new single as it fits well into the Halloween season as well and is meant to basically build a bridge between Halloween and Christmas

Yes, she does - and it's awesome! Though I may be biased as she has yet to release something that I don't live for Does that mean you also heard her first Christmas album at some point?

Yes, as I just wrote to Akini, the song and video are actually made for being released during Halloween, as it fits into both the current and the Christmas season and works well as a bridge of these two festive seasons! Nightmare Before Christmas <3

I'm actually loving Noah ever since her debut many years ago and she's already collect tons of entries on my chart, but I Just Want A Lover may be her best song ever. Strong tune that definitely deserves some mainstream love as well!

I didn't see it yet, will check it out for sure! But yes, I checked Raye out thanks to Paul / crystalphoenix and iirc he checked it out because of you? So guess I need to thank you as well because Black Mascara is such a BOP!

The Loneliest is great and quite impactful, curious to see what it'll do for them chart-wise.

Ah, glad to hear Black Mascara turned out to be a grower for you then! It hit me right away, as I had no idea what to expect when I checked it out through crystalphoenix' chart, but I immediately loved it.

Agreed, The Loneliest is very nice... and it's cool they don't release the same track over and over again as a single.
