  • YAY, Top 10 for 'Doing It'! Such a catchy tune. Also good to see 'Sugar' in the Top 10, such a great single.

Nice debut for 'Real Love'. It recently grew a lot on me, I love it.

Another week for 'SUCKER' in the Top 10 is great!

      • First, the new certifications are insane! - It's crazy to see "Hydra" being certifies with 7x Gold! - Great and impressive acchievement!
Also, it's great to see Ariana's amazing "Love Me Harder" going Platinum!

Second, it's really not a surprise to see Nightwish being on top of your chart! - However, it's still great that they got another number-one, although I think that "Élan" is their weakest leading single to date (at least since "Once"). Hopefully, I will get into their upcoming album more easily! - Which other songs did go number-one? "Amaranth", "Bye, Bye, Beautiful", "The Islander" & "Storytime" or am I mistaken?

Third, I love to see Ariana is still doing great on your chart! "One Last Time" deserved to be #1 last week as well & it seems that "Break Free" will never die

Also, "Cool Kids" is a great tune! Nice to see it debuting! & it seems that you're not feeling the new Rihanna single either... Personally, I think that it's her first lead single that somehow sucks... I wasn't able to listen to the whole song...

All in all, great chart as always ;)

Glad you like lots of entries! Avril's song should be a hit, shame she's not successful anymore
"1989" could surprise you next week...

Definitely! But it's all deserved IMO, "Hydra" was a huge surprise and i'm still not tired of the album after all this time!
Same for LMH, still listening to it a few times every now and then and it still sounds fresh

I think i like "Élan" more than "Storytime", that one was great, but seemed kinda 'soulless' to me. But i understand you as i thought it's very weak at first as well, it grew on me though. Kinda sad it's just #3 on your charts - if it would have been #1 it would have made the Top10 on the UKMix Parade
BBB wasn't a #1 hit for them, but "Sleeping Sun 2005" hit #1 in 2007

Really glad you agree with me about OLT being #1 material. Definitely another huge hit for hers, she's releasing the perfect singles. And yeah, as for Rihanna it's the first lead single in AGES i'm not crazy about and didn't even download it. Guess i have to wait for the album, maybe it will catch up then...
Thanks for your comment, always appreciated!

No, i liked "Let Me Go" more, but it comes close. HK is amazing as well though

              week 9/2015 – 26 february 2015 Zelena Vs. Nightwish

              • Singles Top40

Pop princess Selena Gomez is back with a new single called “I Want You To Know”. It might be just a feature, but she’s featured on Zedd’s track, whose ‘only’ a DJ and producer so the track is basically also Selena’s. The fact that both seem to be a couple makes the song even more sweet, and as one of the most successful artist on my charts, the debut for “I Want You To Know” was set to be huge. But after last week’s big impact of “Élan”, the new single by Nightwish, there was an interesting fight this week and the finnish symphonic metal band won. “Élan” can spend a second week on top, while “I Want You To Know” still gets a great debut at #2, followed by Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” which slips 2-3.

Apart from Zedd and Selena, there are four more new entries and one re-entry. Only a few weeks after “Like I Can” debuted, Sam Smith is already ready with his new single “Lay Me Down”, which becomes his fifth consecutive Top10 entry at #7, but also the lowest peaking so far. Marina And The Diamonds seems to get a great year, as “I’m A Ruin” becomes already her fourth charts entry this year (#12). After they got hit after hit with their last album, the current and new album by Imagine Dragons failed to make a big impact so far. Maybe “Warriors” can change that? While being released as a stand alone single for a video game a while ago, it’s just making its debut now as it’s also available on the deluxe edition of their second album “Smoke + Mirrors” (#17). The re-entry is also by the band as the lead single “I Bet My Life” climbs back at #24. The last new entry comes from Calvin Harris and HAIM who debut at #19 with “Pray To God”.

Reaching the Top10 for the first time just a week ago, “What I Did For Love” by David Guetta and Emeli Sandé goes even further this week, up 8-4, similar to Charli XCX’s “Doing It” which rises 9-6. Between both there’s Taylor Swift’s “Style” which falls 3-5. Within Temptation’s “Edge Of The World” is down 6-8, followed by Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” (7-9) and “Raindrops” by SNBRN and Kerli (5-10). The latter may get a new entry sooner than expected as she just put a snippet of an upcoming song into the internet.

Despite a good start, Avril Lavigne’s “Give You What You Like” already drops out of the Top10 (4-11). Same for Maroon 5, who only lasted one week in that territory with their hit “Sugar” (10-13). Due to their new album, the current charting songs by Imagine Dragons get a boost as well. While promo single “Gold” is up 26-21, the second single “Shots” moves 33-26.

Imagine Dragon’s “Shots” is the biggest climber while Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” already falls 28-40 as the biggest loser this week.

Imagine Dragons are back with a new album. The american band got several charts hits during the last two years from their debut album “Night Visions”, and despite showing longevity and being certified with Platinum, the album never went higher than #4 on the weekly album charts. The second album called “Smoke + Mirrors” outpeakes it easily now, with debuting straight at number one. They dethrone Björk’s “Vulnicura” which is down 1-4 in its fifth week.

Taylor Swift is unstoppable and just gets bigger and bigger. After a more or less disappointing start, her album “1989” picked up again lately and is even back up 5-2 this week. Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” is also doing surprisingly good, staying at #3 for another week. Swedish singer Anette Olzon will release a new video tomorrow, but her album “Shine” is already going up this week (9-5). Within Temptation remain at #6 with “Let Us Burn”, followed by “Homogenic” (2-7) and “Vespertine” (3-8), both by Björk. Ed Sheeran, who just won Album of the Year at the Brit Awards, slips 7-9 with “x”. Imagine Dragons may be the only act with a new entry in the Top10, but there’s another album that wasn’t in there last week. French DJ David Guetta underperformed with his current release “Listen” so far, but thanks to his current single “What I Did For Love”, the album climbs back up 13-10.

Nightwish slays on the Singles Top40, but they’re also doing good on the Album Top20. While their two last albums “Imaginaerum” (8-12) and “Dark Passion Play” (16-11) are still there, there’s a third, new one. “Once” was released as the last studio album with Tarja as the frontwoman back in 2004 and became their real breakthrough album. Unfortunately, it never made my charts, and despite being a fan since 2004, i also never bought the album, until just a few days ago, what makes it eligible to make an entry at #13 as well.

Jessie J’s “Sweet Talker” is as low as never before (12-16), but she’s celebrating its 20th charting week, and she’s set to release the title track soon so the album may go up again. A last entry is worth a mention, and it’s “Cheek To Cheek”, the jazz album by Tony Bennett and Lady GaGa. Mainly thanks to GaGa’s fantastic Oscar performance, the album re-enters the charts at #19.

              • Airplay Top10

On the Airplay Top10, it’s still Nightwish who reigns the charts with “Élan”. The song doesn’t become the first song ever to get two weeks with 200 or more plays, but it still got a very impressive 170 plays over the last week, while “Sagan”, a track which is on the physical release of “Élan”, makes its debut at #2 with 71 plays.

Zedd and Selena Gomez debuts at #3 with “I Want You To Know”, which got played a very good 65 times. Nightwish get even more entries as some of their older songs make an entry. “Last Of The Wilds”, an instrumental, is new at #4, followed by the singles “The Islander” (#5) and “Amaranth” (#6). Imagine Dragons obviously get some entries as well with “Gold” (#7), “Shots” (#8) and “Warriors” (#10). Most of their other album tracks were played five or six times as well.

And there’s still room for another song... and it’s “Style”, the current single by Taylor Swift, which finally debuts at #9.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 45 to 355 (-11.3%) compared to last week.

                  • I checked out the Zedd/Selena song and it's very...meh. I am pleased to see "Pray to God" debut, though! Hopefully, "FourFiveSeconds" will be able to find new life on your chart as it has on mine.

Terrific to see "Warriors" debut. As you would know, I LOVE that song! "Pray to God" is great as well. Also great to see "Walk" sticking around - it has been one of my favourites the last few weeks.

I don't know your number one (although I am familiar with the band ) and your number 2 is alright. "One Last Time" is great though - much better than "Break Free" and even "Problem".

Nice top 10, I don't know your top 2 but I love Doing it, Style, One Last Time, What I Did For Love & Thinking Out Loud. Doing It especially has grown on me, I originally thought it was throw away but I love it now, radio playing it a lot really helped.

I'm currently listening to "1989" daily, so i don't see it falling much lower anytime soon (Depends on the new releases, of course...)
I hope you won't be too disappointed by this week's position for Imagine Dragons...

Oh kinda sad you don't like it, as i think it's very good. But you're also not the biggest fan of "Break Free", so i understand it. Yes, "Pray To God" will hopefully be a big hit...
As for "FourFiveSeconds"... its been a very long time since i didn't download a lead single from Rihanna and this time it's the case, so i guess i need the album to get more into the song...

As for "Warriors", i guess you will be even happier with this week's chart ;)

I guess it's pretty clear that i disagree that OLT is better than BF, but i'd say it's better than "Problem" too. Definitely an album highlight

Nice top 10, I don't know your top 2 but I love Doing it, Style, One Last Time, What I Did For Love & Thinking Out Loud. Doing It especially has grown on me, I originally thought it was throw away but I love it now, radio playing it a lot really helped.

week 10/2015 – 5 march 2015 new albums by Kelly Clarkson & Brandi Carlile

                                      • Singles Top40

Nightwish’s “Élan” becomes the first song since Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” last summer to spend more than just two weeks on top of the Singles Top40. That’s really impressive, as the competition was strong lately and still remains strong, with another two big new entries in the Top3. After less than two months, Kerli is already back with a new collaboration. This time she’s featured on the debut single by the new artist and DJ Karma Fields, called “Build The Cities”, which makes a debut at #2. They’re followed by the new single by Anette Olzon. The swedish singer released the second official single of her solo debut album “Shine”, and it’s the title track. With the debut at #3, she scored an entry with songs from one album in three different years (2013 with “Falling”, 2014 with “Lies” and now 2015 with “Shine”).

Ariana Grande loses just one place again with “One Last Time” (3-4), while “I Want You To Know” by Zedd and Selena Gomez is down 2-5. David Guetta’s and Emeli Sandé’s collaboration called “What I Did For Love” slips 4-6, and Kerli’s other collaboration with SNBRN called “Raindrops” improves for the first time, up 10-7. Taylor Swift’s “Style” is still doing good (5-8) and it’s on its way to become her biggest hit from her current album “1989” so far. Imagine Dragons score another Top10 hit as “Warriors” increases 16-9, and Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” closes the Top10 this week (9-10).

Usually there are lots of new entries, but there’s actually none apart from the two new songs inside the Top3. But, quite surprisingly, there are six re-entries, and four of them are back inside the Top20. The highest of them are Lo & Leduc, a swiss hip hop combination. Their hit “Jung verdammt” is becoming one of the biggest national hits ever in Switzerland, and they just sweeped the Swiss Music Awards last friday, including the best performance of the night, so it’s not a big surprise to see the song back at #13 and easily outpeaking its previous peak at #25. The three other re-entries in the Top20 are all because of new album releases. While Kelly Clarkson’s new album “Piece By Piece” brings the lead single “Heartbeat Song” back to a new peak (#18), Brandi Carlile’s new album “The Firewatcher’s Daughter” brings back the songs “Wherever Is Your Heart” (#17) and “The Eye” (#20). Finally, also back are Taylor’s underperforming “Blank Space” (#29) and James Bay’s “Hold Back The River” (#33); the latter also performed at the Swiss Music Awards.

Time to look at some other movements. The lucky number ‘13’ seems to be an unlucky number for Within Temptation. While their last single “And We Run” left the Top10 after 13 weeks, their current release “Edge Of The World” is doing exactly the same (8-11). That’s still an impressive number of course, and the song gets certified with Platinum this week, becoming already their fourth release of their current album “Hydra” to do so after “Paradise (What About Us?)”, “Whole World Is Watching” and the already mentioned “And We Run”. Same movement, but ten places lower... there’s Ariana Grande’s “Break Free”. After astonishing 34 weeks, the huge hit has to leave the upper half of the charts for the very first time by falling 18-21.

Imagine Dragons’ “Warriors” is the biggest climber while Marina And The Diamonds’ “I’m A Ruin” is the biggest loser (12-31).

                                      • Album Top20

US singer songwriter Brandi Carlile scores her first top record with her fifth studio album “The Firewatcher’s Daughter”. The folk/rock singer already got a big success with “Bear Creek” back in 2012, and “The Firewatcher’s Daughter” is her first release since then. With this top debut, she blocks pop singer Kelly Clarkson. The first American Idol winner ever released her seventh studio album called “Piece By Piece” which becomes her fourth appearance on the album charts, and all made the Top5. Interestingly, all of her previous albums peaked later in their chartruns, so maybe “Piece By Piece” will become her first number one album in some weeks?

Taylor Swift just won the Mammy Award for the Best Pop Vocal album, and “1989” is still going strong, just slipping 2-3 this week. I’m currently listening to it as much as i never did before, so the album really recovered from the bad start. Anette Olzon’s “Shine” is up 5-4, followed by her former band Nightwish. The band gets a third and the last new entry of the week with their live release “Made In Hong Kong”, which is unfortunately the only live release from them with Anette as the lead singer. The band has another album in the Top10 as “Once” leaps 13-7.

Ariana Grande’s “My Everything” falls 3-6, and Within Temptation reach a new all-time-low with “Let Us Burn” (6-8). After a good debut, Imagine Dragons fall a lot with “Smoke + Mirrors”, down 1-9 this week. That’s not because the album isn’t good, it’s more because the competition is really big at the moment. Last but not least, Björk closes the Top10 with “Vulnicura” (4-10).

The finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish really own the charts right now. Apart from the two entries in the Top10, they still have two more with “Dark Passion Play” (11-11) and “Imaginaerum” (12-20). Björk leaves the Top10 with her two older releases “Homogenic” (7-13) and “Vespertine” (8-15). Also leaving that territory are Ed Sheeran’s “x” (9-12) and surprisingly also David Guetta’s “Listen” (10-14), despite having a hit single with “What I Did For Love”.

                                      • Airplay Top10

Nightwish also gets a third week on top of the airplay charts with “Élan”, while “Sagan” remains at number two. It’s the first time since Selena Gomez’s “The Heart Wants What It Wants” that a song remains on top for three consecutive weeks. But while Selena got 132 plays in these three weeks, Nightwish’s “Élan” got played for an impressive 521 times.

Having the top debut on the Singles Top40, it’s not a big surprise to see Karma Fields and Kerli also making a good debut on the Airplay Top10 with “Build The Cities”, new at #3. It’s followed by Zedd and Selena with their “I Want You To Know”, which slips 3-4.

While most songs from Nightwish’s two Top10 albums, Anette’s current album and even from Kelly’s album were played quite often, it’s the top album which has the most entries and got played the most from all of them, so Brandi Carlile has six entries this week. The highest ones are the singles “Wherever Is Your Heart” (#5) and “The Eye” (#6), while the album tracks “The Stranger At My Door” (#7), “The Things I Regret” (#8), “Mainstream Kid” (#9) and “Heroes And Songs” (#10) all make an entry too.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 124 to 231 (-34.9%) compared to last week.

I was very impressed by Piece by Piece. I think it's a great album and as enjoyable as only Breakaway was in the past among Kelly's works

I plan to buy his debut album, so expect some more success for "Hold Back The River" within the next few weeks

Yes, it's a really solid pop album. Better than expected for sure

Well, it's still a really good album, but i was listening to lots of albums last week so the competition was pretty big. Should be stable from now on, hopefully!

Oh good question. It's still hard for me to pick some faves, as most of the album is on the same level, but "Run Run Run", "Take You High" and "Heartbeat Song" are probably my faves right now, with "Piece By Piece" being a bit better than most other stuff as well
