    Current All-Time Position: #144

It just hit me in 2016 how much of a classic this is! I can really relate to the lyrics at this stage of my life too, so I just love this song so much and I'm going to miss David. RIP.

    14. The Beach Boys - That's Not Me

    Current All-Time Position: #25

Beautiful track from their classic album "Pet Sounds", has become one of my faves from them, I feel like I can relate to some of the lyrics (even if they are somewhat innocent, but that's the charm) It's just so melodic and has those soaring vocals you expect from them, a top 30 all-timer at present.

Rediscovered him in 2016 and in particular this hypnotic song, it's so gorgeous to my ears, he has a beautiful voice too, I love the whole hushed and quiet tone of the song, moves in to my top 30 all-time this year.

Originally a hit for Carpenters on my chart, this original is so much better though, Michael was probably the biggest discovery for me in 2016, love this funky tune and his soft calm voice.

Was also a big hit last year for me, I just love the melody, one of her best tracks.

    19. Paul Simon - Cool Papa Bell
    [youtube:3nxrcadr]Rm2LIorVaPw[/youtube:3nxrcadr]
    Current All-Time Position: #149

"James Thomas "Cool Papa" Bell was an American center fielder in Negro league baseball from 1922 to 1946. He is considered by many baseball observers to have been one of the fastest men ever to play the game" So this song is about a real life person. An uptempo joy!

Glad you like Paul and Judee. ;) I've made a comment on your thread, I prefer your #1 to that Yoko song tbh.

Laura is a recent-ish discovery for me this is her biggest hit on my all-time so far, she had a great soulful sound and this has a great melody. I discovered her through a video where Natalie Cole mentioned her as a favourite.

Blondini introduced me to Ray on his chart, the album is such a great listen, this epic reminded me of early Zombies, so lush and perfect! Dreamy.

When I saw the video I was so pumped, so cool and dark and the song is strangely catchy and sounds like a few songs put together but it works imo, Bowie went out on a creative high and I'll miss him. One more from Bowie to come.

Amy goes ape-shit on this one, she's a kooky monster on this. A great song, the part at 2:30 when the whole song hushes and she starts to talk is an amazing lift in the song.

Vocals, melody, the harmonies! Such a rich and amazing song from them. The "Smile Sessions" version is the best, although both are perfect.
