If it's between Voila and Tout l'universe, i hope it's Voila, I am in love with Barbara's performance. However, I also support Switzerland which will easily do well with juries.

However, I bet the public will go for an uptempo/midtempo song like Malta or/and Iceland. A lot of people like Lithuania too and let's not forget San Marino hahaha.

Malta will get support from both public and juries so I can see why they are leading the betting odds at the moment. Destiny is very talented.

      • Destiny is super talented, but I can't help but be a little disappointed by it, after how good last years song was. This one sound a bit like Little Mix to me.

        • I'm a bit disappointed this year. Only really like three songs so far. Last year I had 8 favorite songs.

It's their last song as a group so the message is that it's a parting gift.

It seems that fan favourite, Malta has got a great spot. Throw away bores fro Estonia and Slovenia got the worst spot traditionally. Senhit will bring it opening up night 2, but as most of the other uptempo female tracks are in the first semi, I thought she might have been spread out a bit further into the show. Moldova picked up a sure qualifying spot, after the struggle that will be songs 2-6, Natalia will certainly liven the show up.

Sweden have a decent placing in semi 1, between 2 pretty out there songs that could both be disasters depending how they go. Those girly anthems are split out every 2 songs in the second half of semi one, we got 8, 10, 12, 14, 16.

                  • San Marino and Lithuania are great choices to open each show.

Malta's spot is giving me Cyprus 2018 vibes.

I am not sure i agree with Latvia performing after Finland, both songs have a very dynamic style. I'd had preferred Portugal or Albania after Finland.

Ireland's spot is not good :(. Cyprus-Norway-Croatia wow going to be super interesting LOL. It is not looking good for Norway i think.. Not sure how i feel about Belgium performing after Croatia and before Israel...

                    • I guess they were limited when with what they could do for the second half of semi 1. 5 uptempo female numbers were drawn for the second half there, so they had to alternate them all with the other tracks, but I’ll be surprised if Elena, Albina, Eden, Efendi and Destiny can all get through. And what that means for Lesley Roy, I don’t know. I’m not sure The Roop are a given anymore either.

Since 2015, only 1 out of 2 semifinal openers makes it out through to the Grand Final. I have no worries for Lithuania this year which means San Marino is in trouble

An interesting selection - although presumably aimed more at casual viewers of the contest in the UK, as it is very dominated by winning songs and UK entries (forty-two of the former and twenty-two of the latter, if I've counted correctly). Other countries have released compilations including many much less well-known entries in the past.

I just noticed: our friend Daz Sampson excluded but the terrible Scooch are on it. They've even left off Blue - OK the song didn't do well but they're a big name. Glad Frances Ruffelle is on it, though.

                                        • Is there a reason why there always seems to be one strong semi and one much weaker one every year? Or is it completely random?

probably to intrigue and attract ppl to watch. WHO WILL MAKE IT?
but ofc it is always "random"
