Alt-pop singer S10 is going to represent the Netherlands! Which means we'll finally get a song in Dutch, so exciting! Wouldn't mind a Froukje-esque entry from them.

The artists that will perform at the BenidormFest (preselection of Spain) have been revealed and seems like many are saying this is the best Spanish lineup in years, I definitely recognize some names from the FSC like Javiera Mena ('Luz de Piedra de Luna' is amazing) and Rigoberta Bandini (still listening to 'Perra') and ofc Azúcar Moreno.

I don't mind this, it's pretty catchy although a little bit dated I guess, also feel like it lacks something, some 'ooof'. But overall I'd call it a pretty good choice. Not a sure qualifier though (depending on the strength of the semi-final ofc)...oh and it's not a rock song btw

Best preselection we've had in ages!

My 5 favs (in no particular order):

-Postureo (Azúcar Moreno)

Azúcar Moreno are living legends, both for Spanish music and ESC. Love them. The song is what you'd expect from them, although it may sound a bit dated...

-Terra (Tanxungueiras)

It'll be the 1st time the Spanish entry is not in Spanish but in Galician, one of the co-official languages... (the far right in Spain would be fuming... ).
The song has mix traditional sounds of Galicia with current beats and I think it could be well received in many parts of Europe. The three girls have a strong stage presence.

-Ay Mama (Rigoberta Bandini)

Such strong lyrics. (Will they censor the parts about her breasts??) Feminist anthem dedicated to mothers and women. Indie pop with a catchy chorus.

-Raffaella (Varry Brava)

Typical Spanish indie pop in the style of La Casa Azul with 80s disco vibes. A song dedicated to Raffaella Carra. Fresh and funny.

-SloMo (Chanel)

Pop dance with urban and latin vibes with parts of the song in English. By far, the most international song. Becky G meets Camila Cabello type of song.

After a quick listen, Rigoberta's is my favorite. Nothing that really blew me away instantly, but will have to give them another spin.

I'm sure next year ESC is going to be as much as exciting as this year. Tho this year was so overwhelmed for many of us, cuz the last year was cancelled. I was in tears back in May when I heard the opening of the show.

After ESC produced finally huge name WW Maneskin, many artists will try to follow their success and give their best.

And ppl are again so interested again in watching ESC.

Sadly but judging from names there isn't much hype.

Tina Vukov is 15 y late, lots of fillers. Mia Negovetic is trying too hard over the past 2 years. Maybe Mia Dimsic can bring it with that allegendlly pop country song? Not a fan of hers tho...

But I have high hopes in Tia and Ella Oreskovic (hope she doesn't freeze this time). Or even Toma can bring even better song than last year.

Loving this line already

As much as I like Ay Mamá, I really hope Tanxugueiras win, especially if they'll slay the performance on Benidorm. Feel like their entry has the biggest potential to connect with Europeans and there's great potential for cool staging.
Some people are bringing up comparisons with Go_A..I kinda get it but the Eurovision audience is a bit unpredictable with entries like these, it can end up like Go_A but also like Tulia..we'll see.

Okay i'll admit I was kinda mad at first that Alban didn't win but he just wasn't very convincing vocally even though the song was great. I'm getting into this but they said it's gonna be revamped and it definitely needs it. The instrumental and pre-chrorus has great potential, but the song still feels like a demo to me. Hope they can fix it for Turin, I can see it being this year's 'Mata Hari'.

too bad Melodifestivalen ends too late and the flopped songs can't be reused in other NFs according to the contract (some Melodifestivalen SF flops could have well worked for San Marino ever since the early Mello rounds are pretty much popularity contest there).
