I helped those Corrie ratings. First time I’ve watched in months, was decent.

      • I'm more surprised by how strong the second showing of Corrie was than the first - it so often loses a million+ viewers,

I'm not at all clued up with the soaps these days so cannot vouch for quality either way, but there's been a clear (and consistent) uptick in viewers since 2018 came around.

Is it typical that more people watch soaps in January, maybe due to more people staying in?

Yeah, the ratings in Jan and Feb are always the highest for the soaps

Everyone's skint and depressed - they stay in and watch everybody else's problems.

Watching EastEnders certainly makes me feel less depressed about my own life.

That’s quite low for Casualty. Saturday nights are quite low rated in January it seems.

Combined with 5star it was still near 1mil which is decent for Saturday night it's always their lowest rating night

                          • I see EE has dipped again compared to the other two, probably a reflection in quality.

                            CBeebies ruling the non-terrestrials.

People clearly not buzzed about a two and a half hour show concerning dogs.

                                  Great for The Chase though.

WTF at that dog show, 2.5 hours?!?!

Silent Witness is a big ratings hit even after all these years!

It was literally a countdown of the nation's favourite dog. I mean, there are some people who'd be interested in that but it's a show more suited to E4 or ITV2, not primetime TV.

For what it's worth, take a look at this:

Silent Witness - Last Week - Consolidated Audiences

                                        Monday - 8.68m (+2.78m - overnight was 5.9m) *
                                        Tuesday - 8.3m (+2.49m - overnight was 5.81m)

                                        * The biggest ever timeshift for Silent Witness.

Frankly speaking, it's the biggest thing on TV at the moment.

I didn't realise people still actually watched Silent Witness but those figures are incredible. It's not really my cup of tea but Emilia Fox is one of my ladycrushes.

It dropped to 6m for the second episode! Obviously a lot of people thought the same as me.

It dropped to 6m for the second episode! Obviously a lot of people thought the same as me.
Was it that bad? I haven’t heard many good things.
6 is still very very good. Beat the x factor by a million. I am enjoying it
