  • The 'official' data reveals that a whopping 13.7million people watched this year's opener on linear television.

When online streaming via ITV Hub is included, that number climbs further to 14.2million.

The colossal figure - an increase of 3MILLION on the overnight - means I'm A Celebrity's eighteenth series has broken the record for the show's most-watched launch of all time.

The accolade was previously held by the thirteenth run, which kicked off with 13.5million viewers in November 2013.
    God bless catch-up!

Slightly up on last year but yes still dismal.

I can’t believe ITV have signed up to a further four years. They obviously don’t care about their weekend schedule that much, or they just don’t want to invest money into anything new. You’d think they’d play it safe by having it on a rolling contract. I guess the fact BGT is still big news means they’d rather keep things friendly with Cowell.

Cowell is probably the sort of person you wanna stay close too, just look at the shade he threw Fleur East the other day.

This year's IAC was a huge smash for ITV - the final grabbed a peak of 11.9m viewers with an average of 10.8m.

Over a million more than last year's series, but without Planet Earth II for competition this time.

The series averaged 12.6m viewers across its first week, including catch-up - almost 2m more than last year's equivalent.

                • Digital Spy don't seem to publish full ratings like they used to, just highlights. Anyway, was checking yesterday's and just look at how bad those Eastenders ratings are:

                  EastEnders (BBC1, 8pm): 4.19m (23.5%)
                  Celebrity Apprentice for Comic Relief (BBC1, 9pm): 3.30m (18.1%)

Crazy that the BBC are spending £87 million on the cost of a new set for EE - £87 million!!!

                  • How on earth is it costing that much?! They’d be better off spending the money on new writers and cast.

                    • That is crazy, especially given those ratings. I wonder how the other soaps are comparing.

                      • Seems quite hard to find any soap ratings lately, wonder if they’re trying not to publish them?

                        • Well, we all know they have generally decreased majorly over the last couple of years.

                          • Apparently, the reason overnight ratings aren't shared anymore is that BARB complained to Digital Spy that without a public source, it wasn't fair to share them (as it stood, only a paid member of BARB was sharing them I think).

So now, all we have is the free BARB data which is generally 2 weeks behind and anything that can be assigned to a source.

                            Here's 18th-24th February 2019:

                            Spoiler!

And the data from last night that has been shared:

                            All Together Now (BBC1, 7.35pm): 3.16m (18.5%)
                            Mrs Brown's Boys (repeat) (BBC1, 9.30pm): 2.74m (17.4%)
                            Crufts (C4, 7pm): 1.23m (7.3%) exc. +1
                            The Queen Mother (C5, 9pm): 1.20m (7.3%) exc. +1

BGT doesn't have a confirmed return date but it's strongly rumoured to be 13th April.

Likely to be the biggest drama hit of the next few weeks is another Jed Mecurio masterpiece - the returning Line of Duty which according to The Radio Times is set to return in early April also.

                                  • TV RATINGS: 7.77m for #LineOfDuty last night on @BBCOne which is higher than any overnight ever. Episode 1 of S4 launched with 5m and consolidated to 7.4m so this is HUGE. Well deserved. I've been hooked on this series - the winner tonight was Shellyann:

                                              Less than 10m on first glance looks disappointing but this will consolidate like a bitch all the way up to 13-14m - it will be a massive consolidated rating.;
