Maybe it can do a Deadpool and significantly improve on the first.

Significantly improve? For me, both movies are on the same level.

Black Panther 2 receives May 2022 release

The highly-anticipated sequel to Black Panther will hit theaters on May 6th, 2022.

Director Ryan Coogler appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday to announce the news. “I’m working on it trying to give fans something special,” Coogler said. He and Marvel head Kevin Feige also revealed the logo for the film, which you can see below.

The first Black Panther film starred Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa / Black Panther, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

It went on to gross $1.35 billion at the worldwide box office and was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, with wins for Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, and Best Production Design.

Beyond excited for this. This first one was sooo legendary. Had people truly in their feelings. I do however want better fight choreography and visual effects.

It is. 4 years without a sequel is a very long time.

Yeah I think 3 years should be enough time for you to catch up

I'm glad I'm not a fan, 4.5 years for a sequel to a horribly boring first movie is too much.

I didn't like it on the first watch that much. However on repeat viewing, its so so good

The movie was nice but it was way too overhyped. This long break may be risky, waiting too long can kill anticipation, but obviously, they don't want a sophomore slump which is understandable.

I thought that the 4.5 year gap was a bit much at first, but now I think it is a great idea. There was much hype and much (unwarranted imo) surrounding the film and it feels like it would be too soon. Plus, Marvel has a lot going on, and they need to find the right moment to add in new characters.

Plus, the film's director, Ryan Coogler will be working on Space Jam.
