I know, also the first big wave of immigrants were Indonesian Dutch who moved to NL after the independence cuz the identified more with NL. 1951, no? I am so surprised that I actually remembered all of this.

I am surprised. Even most Dutch don't know much about it. It's not really that they identified more with the Netherlands though. Most of them had never been here. And as they were in Indonesia for many generations, mixed with the locals, more Indonesian than Dutch, you would expect they had more connection with the country where they were born. However, when Indonesia became independant, the Indonesians saw anyone with just a tiny bit of Dutch blood as the enemy. So although my family didn't want to leave, there was hardly any other way.
