It would have felt strong if she turned it into a ballad.

I didn't say it didn't but if I look at what charted back then, even famous songs that I did not like were given a chance to shine in the charts. Fairness all over the charts.

    And get over Janet

    For work?
Both are stunning locations. Depending on where you live atm, LA would be an easier transition, but Hawaiian culture is beautiful and it would be an experience. Don't be afraid, it's not like you have to learn another language. Most people eventually adjust to whatever location they live in. My sister moved to a corn field in Iowa for college from a big city and she eventually ended up loving it. You'll definitely be fine.

Yaass hunty. Travel, sis. It's something that's so valuable to the soul Imo (unless you already travel a lot and then I could understand).

Not as bad. You had 50 year old Madge achieving a #3 song, and Janet achieving a very popular #19 song at age 41 in 2008 not too long after the super bowl incident that supposedly ended her career.

When a song tells the stoy of your life...

Machine Gun Kelly & Hailee Steinfeld
    "At my Best"

I wrote this song as a message for help
On behalf of anybody finding theirself

Do I, even need you, should I leave you
Do I, gotta be you, just to please you

I fall, I break, I mess up, I make mistakes
But if you can't take me at my worst
You don't deserve me at my best

Look at all the years I've been waiting for a moment
Shed a lot of tears just to smile in the morning
Tell me could you love me, tell me could you love me
Tell me could you love me if I told you why

    This song's for anybody, yeah
    Who feels like I did
    Never the cool kid
    This song's for anybody
    Who fought their way through

Got to keep it going, got to keep my head up cause life is about

Extend it to 2008. Back when Mariah and Usher could easily reach number one and have first week sales of 400k+. Even Mary J was poppin' on the charts. I mean Beyoncé hasn't released a number one song since 2008 either. Everything changed in 2009 imo.
