actually it was 2007...

btw Mariah was the first female artist ever to achieve worldwide albums sales of 100 million during a decade (1998). Céline was the second artist who achieved this a few months later.

For that alone, Mariah deserved her star as early as 1995 when she overtook Whitney Houston on cumulative global albums sales to become the top selling albums artist of the 1990's worldwide.. a title she would lose in 1999 to Céline, when she settled for 2nd place globally (1st in USA).
