And Eminem is the reason Rihanna has a career. "Good Girl Gone Bad" was massive but then she declined a lot during "Rated R" and it seemed like she was just going down as Gaga was the biggest thing around that time ..... Then Eminem (the most influential music superstar of the last 20 years) featured her on "Love The Way You Lie" and thats when her career had a turn around, she was the girl on Eminem's hit so she was officially "cool again" and suddenly everyone was into "Loud" ..... People should give credit to Eminem.
Rih literally had a No.1 like two months before LTWYL was released and Em never had another hit as huge as that, before or after. Its pretty clear who helped who.

Calvin had hits before ''We Found Love'' and Rihanna had a couple of relatively underperfoming songs at that time (''Man Down'', ''California King Bed'', ''Cheers''). I'd say it was a mutually beneficial collaboration more than anything
Cheers and Man Down were only released in select markets, CKB did extremely well for a country ballad and Calvin was a nobody before WFL, especially outside the UK.

Umm Rihanna did it with work. Patoaise is a creole language, not English.

Realistic criteria for success: a top 10 album or a top 10 single in all-time charts, drunk crowds singing your songs, no Drake, Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris features, no Band Aid help.
Another criteria: to make a hit with a song in any language other than English.

no even all time lists are full of fake acts... a lot of today's music achievements are inflated by several rule charts of how charts are compiled.
At least Elton John and Queen worked their way into pesky those all-time lists

this figure also includes a gazillion of singles/songs Rihanna was just featured in

Actually they do not. MusicWeek vastly inflated the numbers, almost by 60% (or the singles are undercertified).
Yet still Ed Sheeran sold more, so Rihanna is a flop anyway.
Music Week are the custodians of UK sales information, they don't inflate numbers.

In the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s... you had very different rules of what is

    a) a single
    b) an album
    c) a music product
    d) a sale
    e) acceptable prices for content

I'm pretty sure that Mariah's Charmbracelet album (130k sold) + its physical singles... made more revenue (in pound sterling) than Dua Lipa's album and singles in the UK.

Nope, Rihanna has sold 38M singles and 8M albums in the UK for a grand total of *uses calculator* 46M records sold. Adele hasn't sold that much in the UK srry.
    A. Total revenue is what really matters, not the inflated streaming numbers. Only real sales, only the .
    B. Where does this 38M singles figure comes from when Rihanna has only a handful of singles that made it to 2x Platinum in the UK.

    B. from MusicWeek themselves:

...Amidst all this, career sales/consumption of Eminem singles/tracks topped the 30m mark last week a magnificent tally but inferior to those of Rihanna (38m) and Ed Sheeran (41m).
