                  • Oh wow Katy's version of White Christmas is stunning. I appreciate the way she keeps it simple, stays true to the original while adding some beautiful vocal flourishes without losing the actual melody of the song. Simply beautiful.

The sanke also held back her music from streaming services because "music has value and she doesn't want to undersell it"

It’s my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album’s price point is. I hope they don’t underestimate themselves or undervalue their art.”

True. Talking about forGaGatten I also forgot Piss On Me which had a steep decline and was OUT real quick and ended up behind #13 peaking songs like Break My Heart on Year End Charts

... bbbbbut it returned to #1 11 months later. I'm not sure that Cardigan will return to #1 in 10 months.

The only commercial pop girls that have done good or gone Top 10 on the Hot 100 with non-safe singles are Madonna (“Erotica”, “Frozen”, etc), Beyoncé (“Formation”), Rihanna (“Russian Roulette”, “FourFiveSeconds”) and Taylor Swift (“Cardigan”, “Willow”).

The other pop girls and divas flop whenever they release a different-sounding single to their formulas

There’s nothing risky or alternative or different about that boring AC traditional cheesy rendition that she did of that song ... the typical basic and safe AC ballad sound that she and Celine had in the 90s .. nothing risky about that at all.
