I mean B2B was a double album so every sale counted as 2 ( at least in the US) for certification purposes.

Definitely, it was one of those no filler , record breaking, sensational albums. The combination of a singer/ songwriter and a top notch producer coming together to make absolute magic. Simply a timeless album.

Madonna survived so many flops and backlashes, other women like can't relate. She survived Erotica & Sex book backlash which was a thousand times bigger than Janet's SB backlash. She survived American Life. Rebel Heart sold a respectable figure despite the horrible leaks. Even an album like Madame X did have good debuts worldwide. If physicals were still a thing, Madonna would score more hits and sold more albums.

Madonna paved everything for the pop girls. Literally everything.

Britney and Gaga caused huge waves when they arrived into the music scene but there’s no way they could have made anything without Madonna paving everything for them and basically every other female pop diva out there.

I listened to it all today for the first time in a while and it still sounds so fresh. I also listened to Prism which is a really great album from start to finish. She has some amazing overlooked work on that record.

This, she just didn't give a damn. I remember hearing that she went to some fashion show in Europe and bared both her breasts for a full minute. Europe didn't give a damn and this was back in like 92 or something. The way America couldn't handle a nipple in 2003

Last year, multiple acts at 60+ actually scored successful albums, such as AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan - well, at least in Europe.
There may be a bias towards female artists, but if there was to be any artist having a successful album at that age, it would be Madonna.

Good point. Madonna used to spam something basically every year so it could have just a coincidence.

However I really think she had a huge part in pop coming back in 2006. Literally no one was making dance pop records in 2005 and it was unthinkable that a whole album containing that sound would have any success at that time. Until Madonna did it and smashed with it and opened the market for other dance pop records to smash.
