I am not saying that I am for capitalism, but most people that I know who complain about capitalism are lazy af. There is no effort put into anything they do. I remember watching a YouTuber who always complained about capitalism, but he literally begged his fans to help pay for his apartment.

I do hate seeing how someone can have a $100 billion Net Worth and have their employees sleep outside, but no one wants to address the real issue. The cost of living is the real issue. I live on the Westcoast of USA and everything is very expensive. Portland has gone through Wildfires, intense protests, COVID, and un-breathable air quality. The cost to own a home here has actually gone up which makes ZERO sense.

    • Regarding the cost of living: I'm almost certain that the dimensions in Germany are far from being as extreme as in the US, but we've got certain big cities where there are more than 100 applicants for an appartment. Both, renting costs and costs to own a house go through the roof in such places. Munich is one of the most expensive cities in Germany and an average house costs at least a million € there. On the other hand, you've got regions where houses only cost a quarter of that. People need to learn to move into less popular regions, otherwise it won't be long until an average house will cost 1.5 or even 2 million € in Munich. Supply and demand basically...

      -----

The most popular German newspaper has published that the average German woman has got 6.1 and the average German man 9.8 sexual partners in their life. I was thinking about how that's mathematically possible and came up with the following theses:
      1. Men tend to have more sex with foreign people than women.
      2. Gay men tend to have to have more sex than any other constellation (gay women, straight men, straight women).
      3. Gay women tend to have less sex than any other constellation.

Any other idea to explain the difference of 3.7 sexual partners between both genders?

I think those statistics are sh*t ... 9,8 sexual partners on average in a lifetime? ... unless you met your soulmate and married (forever and ever) very young I fail to see how most single people around the world could only have from 6 to 9,8 sexual partners in their lifetimes.

... but anyways, YES! Regarding the “average” men will always have more sex than women (in general), it’s hormonal and simple Biology.

        • Well, there are a few groups of people who tend not to have many sexual partners: people with disabilities, people with conservative backgrounds, people who meet the love of their life young and of course the eternal bachelors (e.g. weirdos, nerds, etc.).
In a society where there's roundabout the same amount of men and women and most citizens are heterosexual, you'd expect men and women to have the same amount of sexual partners. And that's why I wondered where the 3.7 gap mathematically comes from.

I’m all for capitalism but government regulations need to curb the greediness. Rental and buying prices are a good example. New York and San Francisco are exorbitant compared to “less richer” areas. Lack of laws and regulations allows capitalists to exploit the poor. Yeah yeah, supply and demand but where do we stop the greediness. Some also have generational wealth which gives them that head start in life. There are very few that have “made it big” naturally (through hard work and dedication).

Might I add, luck also plays a major role in life, whether we like to admit it or not.

And this might be a contentious topic but the skin colour you are born with, allows you certain automatic privileges in life, and natural acceptance in society. This also plays a major role in making it big “naturally”.

It's because slut-shaming only affects women (and to a lesser extent, gay bottoms).

That ''study'' is most likely total bs (like anything published by Bild), unless a lot more men have a lot more sex with a lot more other men than we thought.. I mean whom do they have all this sex with if it's not with women? If it was all heterosexual sex, there'd be (close to) no gender gap.

Imagine only sleeping with 9 people in your whole life I had three in the last six days.

                    • Well there are more women in the world but not by that margin.

Anyway knowing that "biggest German Newpaper" and how trash it is it probably asked its readers and all of them lied. Women tend to say they had less sexual partners than what's actually true while men like to exaggerate. This comes back to slut shaming one gender while praising another one for being a playboy.

                      • I’ve had 22 sexual partners this year alone so far (as of this week) and the pandemic actually slowed things down (numbers could’ve been higher in normal conditions).

I could never deal and cope with 9 sexual partners in my entire life .... (I’m single of course).

                        • Well for starters are you not bi? That probably extents your pool of potential sexual partners by a lot. For many people sex doesn't take up such a huge role in their life anyway. People love to talk about sex and also probably watch porn but actually going through the struggle of dating or using hookup apps is not for everyone. I actually think that 6-10 is realistic with a few one night stands and relationships. I actually have quite a few friends with dryspells of 1+ years without feeling the need to chase after it.
This being Gaymix also probably shifts the perspective as I often think Sex is the only thing that keeps gays going, maybe making up for the time in the closet?

The thing is that 22 isn’t even that many or something that requires sex to be a huge role in life. 22 partners in 9 months makes for 2,4 partners on average per month (from January to September). In other words I’ve spent like 90% of my days and year (so far) without sex.

As for your last paragraph about gays being very sex driven. It has to do with hormones. The male gender is very sexual by nature, men in general (not just gay ones) think about sex every few hours during the same day and it has to do with testosterone hormone that makes us men very sexual beings, women are different, even though of course there are very sexual women out there most of them are more emotional or sensitive than men due to lower levels of testosterone in their bodies. And that is the reason gay men have more sex than heterosexuals, straight men are as sexual as gay men, they are womanizers by nature and they would f*ck a different girl every day if they could, the only reason they don’t do it is because several women (who are slightly less sexual) put a stop to many of them hence they can’t do anything about it. On the other hand you put two males (sexual beings by nature) together who feel attracted to each other (gay or bi) and that can only lead to sexual explosion.

6 to 10 people in your whole life ? Give me a freaking break ! Even if you only have sex with one person per month that's 12 per year.

Most of the world's population doesn't have sex once a month let alone a new sex partner for that every time. Most people f the same person multiple times

Are there not as many single people in the world as there are people in relationships though ?

Anyway a survey like that is completely dumb because the results totally depend on who you ask.

For example between last and this week I had sex on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday. Two of the guys I had Fu**ed before, but one of them not this year and the guy on thursday was a new one. I am a proud sexually active single. So for me the idea of only having been with ten people in your whole life seems completely impossible.

I agree. If someone has a company that earns billions of dollars, they have every right to be rich, but I do think government regulations should be in place. If someone is working 40+ hours a week, they should not be sleeping on the street or renting a room just to have a place to live.

I hate when lazy people complain about capitalism. I know people who have not worked since the 1990s, but yet they want everything.

The mere thought makes me feel knackered.

I am definitely in the camp of less is more in this regard - I had a wild time at University (over 30 men over the 3 years I was at university I think which I thought was a LOT - though MrLeonix would clearly disagree) but since then, it's massively reduced.

Well, I’m not really about the quantity though, I’m definitely more of a quality over quantity type of guy.

Obviously the pandemic slowed things down but it’s also worth mentioning that I didn’t have sex with most people who were interested in having sex with me or even dating me. I was extremely selective and decided to have sex with the 22 people I really liked the most (like I truly liked them a lot).

Since this is a public forum, I wouldn't want to go too much into details, but I dare to say that I'm just not attrative enough to pick up dates easily. If you're, on top of that, more on the introverted side, you just don't get to sleep around that much.

Hmm that's a tiny bit homophobic henny, especially since multiple studies show that gay men on average are more well rounded and have better education & careers than straight men. It's a dated stereoptype to say that gay men only have sex going on. No, we have sex going on on top of everything else.

Also MrLeonix hit the nail on the head as to why gays are more sexual in general:
