And only a right wing fascist would vote Torry. That's a fact!

Wayne, your not very clever, cause I didn't mention your name. You assumed when I was making the fact a right wing fascist would say that statement, it was about you. So I can accurately state that you are right wing - since you did vote Torry and that you are paranoid about being perceived as a fascist - wherever you are are not doesn't concern me at all. It just means that your a rich person and can be ignored for the purpose of what's right for this country and the election system.

As for the defaced war memorial. The person that did it was probably killed in WW2 and could have been one of the people it's dedicated too, for all we know. I myself had a German bomb dropped on me in 1940. The sound of rotary aircraft passing over my during the night will still wake me up and often triggers a dream of some kind of railway man who was getting washed at the time of the explosion which killed him.
In the same way that those that attended the services today will have their benefits curtailed by this new Torry Party in power, administered over by the same people who they shot and killed now working for the S.S. = Social Security. Of course these people have know knowledge of what they did in a previous life. But what most people call slight "coincidences" draw them to that job.

That's the Shakespeare in me lad doing that You should put some of his works into a spell checker. It would have a fit.
Mind you if you translate it into modern English it wouldn't be on any school curriculum: Just have a look at what those first few Sonnets mean: I can't post them here!

The rest of you can mock as much as you like. But the TRUTH is that all who read this thread have been at least on this planet twice before and that is a fact.

Some people remember past lives others don't. There was a case of a young lad who would go out in the street and redirect traffic. He had a habit of smoking cigars and taking whiskey. Turns out he had been shot when he was a New York cop. Even has the birth mark in the same spot as the bullet entered.

I think I mentioned this before that Sting had been killed in WW1. It's as common as crossing the road having a past life recollection, most are too scared of being ridiculed to admit it.

Lets's bring it back a little with this I found on the net:
When Barack Obama rose upon the US national political stage with his 2008 run for the Presidency, many people wrote to me with the speculation that he is the reincarnation of Abraham Lincoln. Though I did not think that it was a valid match, I asked Ahtun Re in a session with Kevin Ryerson whether it is possible that Obama is the reincarnation of Lincoln. Ahtun Re said, "No, but he was close to Lincoln."
Ahtun Re explained that Obama was a fellow Senator from Illinois who served with Lincoln, who was involved with writing the constitutional amendment which ended slavery. Ahtun Re later confirmed that Obama was Lyman Trumbull, an abolistionist who as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, co-wrote the 13th amendment which did end slavery in the United States.
                        And back to England...
The Marquis de Lafayette has become Tony Blair according to that same website.

                        And finally...
Why are politicians proof of reincarnation?

A: You just can’t get that screwed up in one lifetime.

                        • Her Majesty The Queen opened parliament this morning, and amongst The Queen's speech was the following Conservative policies...

An EU referendum by the end of 2017 is among a packed programme of new laws in the first Conservative Queen's Speech in nearly two decades.

It also includes more free childcare, an income tax freeze and the right-to-buy for housing association tenants.

David Cameron said the 26-bill package was a "programme for working people" that would create full employment and "bring our country together".

The measures were unveiled by the Queen amid the usual pomp and ceremony.

                          The proposed legislation includes:
                          • A ban on income tax, VAT and national insurance increases for five years[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • A freeze on working age benefits, tax credits and child benefit for two years from 2016/17[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • 30 hours free childcare a week for three and four-year-olds by 2017[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • Cutting the total amount one household can claim in benefits from £26,000 to £23,000[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • More devolution for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and "English votes for English laws" at Westminster[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • 500 more free schools and more failing and "coasting" schools turned into Academies[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • A ban on so-called legal highs[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • A "truly seven day" NHS by 2020[/*:m:2anyit3u]
                          • Here is a bill-by-bill rundown of the full programme[/*:m:2anyit3u]

Many of the proposed new laws were promised by the Conservatives during the general election campaign and Mr Cameron can press ahead with plans previously blocked by the Liberal Democrats.

He told MPs that after the election, he now had a "clear mandate" from the British people and "we will not waste a single moment with getting on with the task," in his first speech to the new Parliament.

These include an Investigatory Powers Bill to give intelligence agencies new tools to target internet data, dubbed a "snooper's charter" by critics.

But the prime minister has delayed plans to scrap the Human Rights Act to avoid a potential confrontation with his own backbenchers. Instead, the government will bring forward proposals for a British Bill of Rights to replace the Human Rights Act, with legislation expected following consultation later in the parliament.

There was no mention in the speech of a promised free Commons vote on repealing the fox hunting ban, but environment secretary Liz Truss said the vote would happen by 2020.

In my opinion, it's the strongest "package" of policies since Thatcher's days - with that said, there's some bits in there that don't quite sit right with me [empowering the Police with the option of seizing wages from an illegal immigrant will not solve the problem of illegal immigrants working, and it will just make even harsher, their existence].

Those few words sent a shiver down my spine. No mention of the unprecedented spending cuts to come. Also selling off more social housing when we already have a housing crisis is just insane. It was the Right to Buy scheme under Thatcher that left us with that legacy and the total lack of foresight when it came to house building.
GP's have branded the '7 Day NHS' a ridiculous suggestion when they are currently already under huge pressures and many are set to retire in the next few years.
I must say my favourite piece of proposed legislation is the ban on increases to VAT, income tax and NI, it's like the government are themselves saying , 'We don't even trust ourselves not to raise taxes so we need to enshrine it in law'

On the positive side I do like to see 'Queenie' have a day out in her robes. I'd miss all that pomp and ceremony if we ever became a republic

I don't see all of these Bills being passed at all (especially the one above unless it's complete redrafted). The HoL should actually come in useful for the next 5 years. Thankfully the lefty peers outnumber the Tory peers.

                                  • Former Liberal Democrat Party leader Charles Kennedy has died at his home in Fort William aged 55.

His family said they were devastated to lose a "fine man and loving father".

David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Nicola Sturgeon have led tributes to the former MP, while ex-PM Tony Blair said the death was an "absolute tragedy".

Mr Kennedy, who led his party from 1999 to 2006, lost his seat last month. No cause of death has been given but police said it was not suspicious.

Mr Kennedy led the party to its best-ever election result in 2005 on the back of his opposition to the Iraq War two years earlier but he resigned early in 2006 after revealing he had been receiving treatment for a long-standing alcohol problem.

                                            • I agreed with the overarching principles of the budget, and I think there's a lot of good stuff in there, but I didn't agree with all of it. There was a lot of focus on work and productivity, which is a good thing, but I don't think there was sufficient consideration for those with disabilities and health restrictions. Reducing the payments for new claimants in the Work-Related Group of ESA is a disgrace. These people need more financial input to enable them to fairly access education and employment opportunities, and to sustain a working lifestyle long-term. Reducing the payments to the same rate as JSA is not defendable IMO.

That said, I don't think I'm a "loser" in this budget, so from a purely personal perspective, it delivered for me.

You wont be saying that if someone nicks your car or breaks into your house, because they can't get dole money.

Back in the 1980's Thatcher did a way with dole for 16 to 18. They were promised training places or college places. Because the number of young people leaving school can be tracked, My local college, Sheffield College had the figures of those leaving school and getting jobs or placements in training or college. There was a large proportion that, couldn't get places, plus another portion, again quite big, that NO outcomes were found.

When I was involved with community affairs, the police reported a large increase in crime. They made no bones about it and blamed it on those who had just left school with no money.
That budget sounded just like the ones of the 80's. The only difference being that more pensioners families, will be supporting out of work or sick relatives, now.

It gets me how he can come up with these Tax dodging loopholes, yet we don't see any Panorama style shows reporting on these type of things. Instead what we see are people on the dole at the seaside.
It makes you think how many tax dodges and schemes are out there? Some of them are so technical, full of jargon, you wonder what the Chancellor is talking about at times. Then when he gets down to benefit cuts, his language becomes none descript, full of generalisations, avoiding questions.
Towards the end I switched over to watch ITV3, where I leant that the Banks have set aside, billions of pounds for PPI, but for a few pounds a week I can give a child drinking water. Does that make sense? :-? :-? :-?
