Hope May comes through this and fights it - what a time to try and overthrow your leader.
Completely disagree with you here, Wayne, sorry. The People's Vote in my opinion, is the only viable solution now.
What you're saying is not how democracy works. Otherwise next time we have a general election, whichever party wins should stay in power forever...

Whatever deal Theresa May brings back, with any tiny concessions she is or isn't able to get from Europe, will inevitably be rejected by parliament. The people I blame, are the real anti EU hardliners in the Tory backbenches, who have not given May an inch - they're not willing to compromise or come up with a Brexit that suits the 48%...and I wish May had the courage from the get go to push them back and from the beginning work on a deal that works for the majority of this country...
The Tories need to remember the Rees-Mogg, Boris etc. generation won't be here forever...the 77% of young people are the ones you will need to answer to in the future. And I predict dark days ahead for the Tory party as the young will not forget.

The reason The People's Vote is the only option, is that there is no appetite for No Deal Brexit, i.e. leaving the EU on WTO terms. Especially at this stage, where we are unprepared for such an exit. There will be major problems at the channel, at our airports, for our small and medium sized businesses and most importantly of all...the Northern Ireland border.

The Tory party has changed their mind, MULTIPLE times, they've changed their "red lines" so many times. As Caroline Lucas so eloquently put; if Theresa May can change her mind so many times, why doesn't she let the British public change their mind?!
There should be two options on a future referendum:
    1. Remain in the EU
    2. Leave the EU on WTO terms

However before any "People's Vote" is called, the government must first make the preparations for leaving on WTO terms AND must have a concrete and agreed proposal for the Northern Ireland border. It is just not right that people on this side of the Irish sea, should make decisions that could have catastrophic effects on our brothers and sisters in N and R o Ireland.

Give us a people's vote, open it up to 16 year olds - this is our future and to watch it being screwed by the current government and not seeing any strong opposition from Labour is, in my opinion, one of the most embarrassing and upsetting times that I've seen in my lifetime (politically).
    Mostly I disagree.

Firstly, we can’t just have another referendum that invites 16 year olds into the mix - you’re only asking for that because the young are mostly anti-Brexit. If you don’t trust the adults who voted in the referendum to leave Brexit, why should we trust the kids to do any better?

Labour (and I am a labour supporter) doesn’t want this mess. Labour itself is a party in crisis with no MP capable of leading a government. Why is Corbyn not opposing? Because he knows he can’t do any better with Brexit and is trying to see if he can pick up a few more votes come the next election as a result of this mess.

I agree about WTO and about NI, but as Britain, we can’t let the impact of Brexit on ROI impact our decisions. They aren’t involved in this, though I accept NI doesn’t want a hard Brexit (and we must look at it from a NI approach not ROI).

If there is no appetite for a no-deal Brexit, I don’t understand why people aren’t supporting the deal on the table. It is an either/or situation. There is no alternative on offer from the EU and polls suggest that people believe that the deal on the table won’t change if May is replaced.

Today stinks of career politicians going in for the kill and has very little to do with Brexit imo.
I have a bad feeling about this.

The thing that irks me is that I bet the majority of people who voted to leave won’t even be alive in 20 years time. It’s those of us under 35 that will be living with the consequences for decades to come.

The referendum should never have been so black and white as leave or remain, there should’ve have been some nuance on it and a bigger lead up to the vote to ensure the public could educate themselves further on what it would actually mean.

We were never going to be given a good deal, otherwise other countries would start jumping the EU ship. Let’s just get out, or cancel Brexit. It’s gone beyond a joke.

It’s looking as though May will stay.

One thing's for sure - if the PM does win, it cuts out threats to her position for at least 1 year - which should make her position as the boss tenable for as long as she wants it and will enable her to see Brexit through.

It cuts out threats to her position as leader of the Conservative party, but not to her position as prime minister.

They are one in the same for the purposes of this discussion - if she beats this by as strong a margin as the BBC is reporting, she will be fine until the day she decides she's had enough.

some 45-50 Tory MPs might be even more bitter after Theresa's survival and will vote against Tory party lines

Anything less than 100% support weakens her and might encourage Labour to call a no confidence vote in the Commons. 9 DUP and / or conservative MPs turn on her, she's toast.

Labour politicians are more divided on Corbyn than the Conservatives are on May - they couldn't get their 'ish together quickly enough to confidently call such a vote. I also don't think any political party is foolish enough to call a second confidence vote anyway.

The country is tired of all of this in fighting - the timing of this vote is terrible.

I think she's been extraordinarily resolute and resilient throughout this Brexit process, and I'm pleased she's fighting this.

She has almost 2/3 of the vote, that’s pretty decent.

Only spin would place a different stance on this.

                                              It’s 63% vs 37%.

I think it’s safe to assume the 117 who had no confidence in her will not vote for the deal, and the 200 who did have confidence doesn’t guarantee they will vote for the Brexit deal too.

                                                    Hard Brexit it is.
