    https://www.gazeta.ru/politics/news/...19062697.shtml

Peskov admitted that Russia is bombing Ukraine’s infrastructure to force Kyiv to negotiate

"Также чиновник добавил, что нежелание украинской стороны Ŧвыходить на переговорыŧ и решать проблему — Ŧэто все последствияŧ."
The official also added that the reluctance of the Ukrainian side "to enter into negotiations" and solve the problem — "these are all consequences."
How we can negotiate anything if when we start it and Russia will demand ANYTHING it wants or it will keep bombing Ukraine???? HOW??? Here are a lot of fans of ngotiations so tell me how???

Any any so respectable journal or media doesnt even translating and do not show this position of Kremlin. It is so clear they DO NOT WANT to negotiate anyting. They want take all or just bombing us now and kill us tomorrow.

‘Ukrainians do not want any negotiations,’ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says. This time, he’s right. - POLITICO

So we should negotiate or surender???

    • Talk of a settlement appears, sadly, premature. A deal could be done tomorrow if Putin agrees to evacuate Ukrainian territory. But until he does, the war will grind on — with further Ukrainian victories likely.
      Article: - https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...nexation-sham/

Who think that "negotiations" will end this war if Ukraine agres:
The Ukrainians need longer-range weapons, but even without them, they cannot afford to pause for the winter as though they were George Washington’s army at Valley Forge. The Russians need time to train and equip the 300,000 conscripts they claim to have mobilized. The Ukrainians cannot give them the luxury to retrofit for a spring offensive. They will need to keep attacking despite the snow and cold.

I totally missed that. It's not surprising. What's funny is if they'd been Ukrainian nationalists, it'd have been all over the news. Which shows that Russia still holds so much power and influence even when they're the "baddies".

        • The mos inthersting is that The Hague District Court qualified the Russian invasion of eastern Ukraine in 2014 as an “international armed conflict” and recognized that Russia had control over proxies in Donetsk Oblast since mid-May 2014. So now it is rrecognized by Court that russia started its agression in 2014 and that there is no any "civil war in Ukrraine", where were some "people of Donbas" trhat fight agains "nazis in power in Ukraine".... This statment was proved during that process and finally someone said it clear.
          ----------------------------------------------
What is also I find intrest that headlines are quite proving your point. Feel the diffrence:

Forbes - Two Russians And One Ukrainian Found Guilty Of Downing Flight, Killing Nearly 300 People
BBC - MH17: Three guilty as court finds Russia-controlled group downed airliner

And Forbes arrticle gives that only a fact those 3 are guilty as court said, I feel like I need someone to repeat what court said coz I can not read. that arrticle givs no other info or background at all....

            • And here what I did not expect to see that finally western media will dig in russian interrnet ans check what is there: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63246153

Russians kept in the dark by internet search

So what happens if you switch from Yandex to Russia's second-largest search engine, Google?

Searching on the US-based company's search engine with our VPN set to a Russian location, and typing in Russian, still brought up pro-Kremlin media outlets, but mixed with some independent and Western sources.

Even more independent sources appeared when we searched Google with the VPN set as though we were in the UK, although still typing in Russian. There were plenty of results covering either the civilian deaths or the war.

Google told the BBC that its search "reflects the content that is available on the open web", and its algorithm is trained to "prominently surface high quality information from reliable sources".
What is not new for me has surprised BBC )))

Are they still convinced that they will win? I mean, most wars are pointless, but there has to be a reason beyond Putin saying so that people keep on fighting.

Facism. Authoritarianism. Oppression. Propaganda.Colonialisation and all side effects (ethnic cleansing as well as poverty in colonies of the Russian Federation = some men from poor families from "republics" such as Buryatia or Dagestan are promised to get paid).

There are a few Russians on this forum - at least, one user has previously posted in this thread (also just recently after the missiles killed two people in Poland) - Dunno, if we can expect (honest) answers or answers at all.
Since the Russian regime has become totally fascist and oppressive, people thinking differently arenīt treated well at all (another reason why people obey, stay silent or "keep on fighting" if you ask me).

I really donīt know how this may end.

It really depends on the dynamics of the Russian colonies since Russia doesnīt have any real opposition. If colonies such as Tatarstan, Buryatia, Dagestan, Mari El, Chechnya etc. gain independance, people of Russian ethnicity (and their politicians) may finally realise that their ethnicity is not superior to them at all. Unfortunately, the delusion of "unity through russification" is very strong and pursued by Russian authorities. Itīs a relict of Soviet times (as well as Russian imperialism) and part of the reason why Russia continues invading sovereign countires to "liberate them from their inferior languages and cultures". It just takes a few generations to install such views and such thoughts are passed onto the next generation.

Moreover, propaganda is still a key factor. Russians have been told that they are fighting NATO members, satanist and homosexuals in Ukraine - Ukrainians got dehumanised and Putinīs regime created a scapegoat. Apparently, "Russia" values traditions, religion and needs to "do this" to prevent heterosexuals from becoming extinct. Donīt ask me why people really believe this bullshit but thatīs what Putin, Medvedev, Kadyrov and co. are saying on a daily basis - it gets aired on TV, reapated by TV hosts, politicians and the Russian elite several times a day.

If you ask me, it takes years of decolonization, denazification and education (finally overcoming the post-Soviet trauma and admitting and acknowledging history instead of keeping on fantasising "how Russia brought peace and unity") as well as the collapse of the current Russian "Federation" to improve this situation.

Even if Ukraine gives up half of their territory and depose Selenskyj from office, nothing will change and the Russian elite wonīt stop there. They have already made it clear what they want: A land corridor to Transnistria, the collapse of Bosnia and Herzegovina, NATO borders from 1991, further colonialisation and russification.
In addition, Russia started to cement ties with Iran and the Taliban (Afghanistan).

How will this end? - Minorities may realise that "russification" is not something admirable and perhaps they donīt want to be blamed for the acts of genocide happening in Ukraine right now - Iīve already seen a couple of local protests in Yakutia and Dagestan, for example, and some level of independence efforts in Tatarstan, Dagestan and Mari El .... a few Russian soldiers gave in to Ukrainians after realising whatīs been going on ...We can just hope that such incidents will occure more often (or something like Putin meeting mothers of fallen soldiers but in reality, all "mothers" just faked their losses and are Putinīs puppets instead... if more people realise such propaganda in Russia, they may turn around... but I donīt count on that since criticism is met with harsh punishment).

This position, like lets be out of this war, or do not help Ukraine or peace by any price this is dangrouse it's Chamberlain's position for the West. And for Ukraine it is and end. For me and milions of ukrainians it is genocide.

There is NO water and electricity as well as no people (tortures and killings), no laws (like in Russia) and no freedom at all.

Food as a weapon. What you should know about Holodomor, the artificial famine that killed millions of Ukrainians

She dont want to lave and I wont run eather or give up. Its not a game or play o something. I knew this wa will come one day far way in 2014. It's a choice. If you think I have some joy or nothing to do in real life here, you are wrong. My gandma having electricity for 12hls and as old woman she neds a care. Some opinions are just not that stupid as DANGEROUSE, I bet if you would come here for a week you would see this whole in a totally another way. I also lived last years in EU visiting restaraunts, chilling, playing games and working, and meeting friends all around the globe. But all of that has gone. Time and sittuation has changed like in was during COVID. And this war started Putin in Russia. It was their choise in 2014 and in 2022. No one asked me do I want to live in war.

                                      • Macron says Putin made 'huge mistake' invading Ukraine but negotiations still 'possible'

French President Emmanuel Macron told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos that he believes a negotiation is still "possible" with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine -- which Macron called a "huge mistake."

Macron spoke with Stephanopoulos ahead of meeting with President Joe Bidenon Thursday for the first state dinner of Biden's administration. In the interview, Macron talked about his visit to Washington and reinforcing France as the oldest ally of the U.S., especially during the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Stephanopoulos asked Macron about his vision for a "successful peace" in Ukraine, which Russia invaded in February.

The French president stressed that such peace would need to be “sustainable" and driven by the Ukrainians.

"A good peace is not a peace which will be imposed to the Ukrainians by others, No. 1," Macron said, adding, "A good peace is not a peace which will not be accepted on the mid-to-long run by one of the two parties."

During Macron's U.S. visit, he and Biden plan to address issues including economic ties between the two counties, challenges from China, Iran and the Middle East and aligning how to best support Ukraine against Russia, according to the White House.

"I think President Putin made a huge mistake by launching this war,” Macron told Stephanopoulos, mentioning the Minsk agreements made between Ukraine and Russia after 2014 in an effort to prevent war. Putin has since said he doesn't recognize that deal.

"There was a political and diplomatic process with involvement of the international community. And he decided on his own, based on a fake narrative, saying NATO will use Ukraine to attack Russia, which is totally wrong,” Macron said.

Stephanopoulos asked: "Is a man who's capable of making a decision like that, a mistaken decision like that, capable of negotiating what you call a good peace?"

"This is exactly the question," Macron said. But still, he said he hopes Putin will be “rational” with a negotiated end to the war.

“[Putin] is in charge and he's been in charge for quite a long time … He knows his people. I think he made mistake,” Macron said. “Is it impossible to come back [to] the table and negotiate something? I think it's still possible."
                                        Source

Exactly what we’ve all been discussing here - negotiating is the only way to end this war.

Driving Russian troops out of Ukraine isn’t a solution and it isn’t the end, because it doesn’t remove the regime waging war - and Ukraine isn’t going to attack Russia. So Russia will just continue attacking and without negotiating a peace this war will just continue indefinitely.
I have a bad feeling about this.

                                        • I think it's another one of those political topics with two sides that each believe that they have the only right solution for the existing problem. This time, one side focuses on weapons ultimately leading to peace and the other one on negotiations. At least the common ground between both (apart from a very small group of people) is the opinion is that the war itself is wrong and Putin a criminal for pushing his agenda.

Maybe no but it is and end for ukrainians. Futher step is protection and garanties. And I mean NATO membership. And latly NATO said that win of Ukraine is a road for Ukraine's membership. And NATO will help Ukraine to win and will hepl as much as it will neded. Btw none says that Ukraine should have peacee o something with russia. Japan is also keep being at war with Russia now.

Negotiations only work if there is something both parties could benefit from. Now what would it be for Russia if they are fully out of Ukrainian territory?

To not be sued by international law and to let Putin breathe.

Russia doesn't want to negotiate... so there's that.

                                                  • The moment Putin started the war, he must've known that he'd break several international laws, so I doubt that not getting sued would be an attractive offer for Putin.
