I dont believe anything better will happen the next years.
Merkel did a huge mistake with letting all those people vome to our country i think.
Disappointing to read - all of it
    Is it?

They didn't vote AfD with their first vote that means that they still have faith in other democratic parties and they weren't part of SPD's misery.
Also, it's always good when people start voting even though we might not agree with their views.

Also, Merkel made a mistake. She let people in without having a plan at first, without being d'accord with other European members etc. That is basically the main reason why AfD got votes. If the crisis is over, AfD will lose votes again and I am sure it's likely they will be out of the Bundestag again.
There are other European countries which vote way more right-wing when Germany did yesterday and I ike it that criticsm is levelled but people should not panic, tbh.
AfD is already sabotaging themseleves since Petry refused to be part of the party in the Bundestag and now, Geeman people can see the true colours of AfD when they are in the Bundestag. Apart from the refugee/migrant crisis, they have no real concept and also have different views among its members. Weidel, for example, is far away from Gauland and Co.

    Anyway.

I am happy thay the liberals are back and that Die Linke was stable and could even improve! I just hope FDP will stay in the opposition.

    Me neither.

    Nothing is surprising, tbh.

I am a bit suprised that SPD got way less votes than expected and I am surprised about the Greens and FDP (but I am happy about their results + Die Linke) and honestly, AfD's result isn't surprising either. For months now, we knew that they would make it and get more than 10%.

I am curious to see how these results will turn out and how it's goin' to be possible for Merkel ( ) to form a government. People didn't want FDP to rule with them (otherwise they would have made the Bundestag last time) and people clearly disliked the GroKo (CDU+SPD) heavily & Schulz already said that he will not be part of the upcoming/future government.

It's the people's prerogative to vote for right wing parties
The results show what the german people wants for the future
The next four years will be extremely interesting and challenging.

Germany election: Merkel wins fourth term, exit polls say

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been re-elected for a fourth term in federal elections, exit polls suggest.

Her conservative CDU/CSU alliance has won 32.5% of the vote, remaining the largest party in Germany's parliament, according to the ARD poll.

Its coalition partner, the social democratic SPD, has gained 20%.

Meanwhile, the AfD, a right-wing nationalist, anti-Islam party, was on track to win 13.5%, emerging as Germany's third-strongest party.

Addressing supporters, Mrs Merkel said she hoped for a "better result" and talked about "extraordinary challenges".
    S
he added that she would listen to the "concerns and anxieties" of AfD voters in other to regain them.

this is so random lmao. I'm not actually sure if i am understanding it correctly, so you mean everyone should vote for the Greens? Like whole Germany?
Not only in Germany, but everywhere, whenever you see green, you should vote immidiately. No questions asked

    What.

This isn't the UK or America where you only get to choose between two parties / candidates.

Because of our electoral system, it is virtually impossible to win an overall majority in parliament. So whichever major party 'wins' the election (Merkel's conservatives or Schulz's social democrats) will still need to form a coalition with at least one or possibly two minor parties (greens, socialists or liberals). So no, a vote for a minor party is not a wasted vote and definitely not a vote for the AFD.
Thanks Rihab. Came here in the middle of my holidays and was like WTF.

The CDU is "greener" than The Greens. I hope they drop out of the parliament.
The Greens were never really in power.
CDU's leadership is now becoming more and more toxic and devoid of reality.

    This.

I used to believe in the Green Party but they are not really needed anymore (sadly)

If people want to have different opinions in our parliament, they should be voting for Die Linke or FDP (as long as they don't become best friends with the CDU again).
