My All is always praised and has a lot of those "reaction" videos on youtube... far more than her other songs. I have 0 idea why the song doesn't pull like 100k daily.

but that is exactly what is wrong with the entertainment industry. There simply aren't enough talented people getting a push. The music industry always tries to plug the same ole formula of a (female) singer who all sound the same and are basically good-looking but otherwise talent free.

People like Mariah and Whitney - if they were to come up today as 20 y.o. new singers would probably never get a label behind them and end up as bar singers somewhere or have like 1 big hit and then vanish like 99% of all starts of today.

I used to watch the German version of American Idol for about 5 seasons or so (2003-2008) (the show is still ongoing btw)... however, it took me 5 years to see that the GP and the jury always out through lesser talented people who were more marketable than the talented ones. All it takes in GER to get to the re-calls or 2nd round on the show was to have big breasts, full lips and preferably be (fake) blonde. Even worse, they all sound alike... they all sound flat and are off key and off pitch.

Exactly nothing has changed. There were never ten Mariahs or ten Whitneys. All thru the 90s there was one Whitney, one Mariah and one Celine.
