This type "digital" by the RIAA brings together physical and digital singles, or just digital, as is the case with Hero, OSD, ABMB and others. Some of the singles that did not have post-digital era certification out the total of 63.5M singles.

Mariah has several compilations (Greatest Hits, ballads, #1s, infinity, essential....).
How much did this hurt the sales of #1s and greatest hits?
Didn’t #1’s only return to digital this year when it was reissued on vinyl? I thought it had been deleted from iTunes and replaced with 1 to infinity? At least it’s back now and growing again.

Anyway, when Merry Christmas surpasses Kenny G's christmas album its just going to be the best selling Christmas album of the Soundscan era. It still has Elvis' Christmas Album ahead (certified Diamond + 4xP for its reissue). It will eventually top that as well but #NotYet.
