Looking back. 2019 November and December were simply the greatest most focused gameplan we had since 2005.
They were doubling down in so many ways.
First it was the It's Time inaugural video that went viral, then there was the repackaged 20th anniversary CD. Then there was the countless interventions and advertisements she did on social media.
Then they released those signed CDs which ultimately wasn't even required that week to score the #1. Such was her power.
They then had a secret weapon in the form of the Music Video remake which had huge production value and rewatchability. That video wasn't even required to go #1.
Then they had extra insurance in the form of the celebrity version of the Music Video singalong. Had they faltered above i'm sure they would've made a much bigger deal about that video then simply dropping that at the backend of the season.
She came to slay.
I need this level of focus and investment in MC16.

You could tell they were gunning for #19. It was great fun. The lambily was really trying to do everything it could and then the song had such a point advantage that none of it was needed, in the end Xmas music streaming had just grown enough to cement it on its own. LOL
She needs to start working on trying to push another song up there, she doesn't have anything else close at the moment. It would probably take multiple seasons and some focused effort to work one of the other songs up to the top. Especially considering she'd ultimately need to beat her own juggernaut in AIW. Even a top 10 would be great though.
From a business standpoint I think she could build on her Xmas brand quite a bit. She should be the face of the entire holiday line at one of the large stores (Walmart, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.), there is no one better to do it. Maybe promo from something like that along with pushing a song onto the soundtrack of one of the bigger holiday film releases could set things up for a big push for another track.

I was already expecting to be slayed by the AIWFCIY chart placement and streaming performance but all these numbers are slaying my initial slay-ment!

I'm from Asia, and usually Xmas hype starts in mid December.
So, why is Xmas hype very early in US?Previously known as sYair

AIWFCIYs success is more than the sum of its parts. Its larger than life and just special, but that doesnt take away the fact that every single little thing counted to elevate it to where it is today.

But hey, anything that can score mimi her 20th and 21st #1s will be something I can live with...as long as it's not some vile act.Soft heavenly eyes gazed into me
