I consider Taylor to be the most successful female artist after Madonna. She just HUGE; she appears small due to the digital and sreaming nature of the industry. But that doesn't make Mariah inferior.

She has been in the industry for 30+ years and is still competing with the younger generation and winning.

Exactly. It hasn’t been the “predictable set list” for a decade. The predictable setlist was VOL, MIH, Emotions, My All, Hero, SIO, WBT, TMB, I’ll Be There Obsessed and maybe a rare enough song.

Since 2012, she’s done songs no one thought she would ever do again and incorporated remixes into her set list in a greater way. So it’s not been the “predictable setlist”. She’s done her big hits which the majority of people want to hear but she’s also delved deeper into her catalog.

I have just been doing some Christmas shopping (I’m from Australia) and was very happy to see many copies of the Merry Christmas CD prominently displayed in a few places in a popular music / games / electronics store. They were the standard edition. Usually there’s a few copies of the deluxe in Mariah’s section but they’d all been sold. Like someone else suggested, Mariah should issue some sort of limited physical release every year.

After that performance that was recently posted, I’d love to see Mariah do Love Takes Time. She was able to make it fit her current voice really well and it gave me chills! I loved it!

While I love MIH, it really needs sustained belting with vibrato. Yes, I know she hasn’t sung it that way for decades but it’s what the song calls for. I don’t love the broken up yeh-yeh-yeh-yeh-ay-yeh-ay style stuff she does while the background singers are sustaining notes behind her. That recent private concert performance was not good. Hopefully she’s been working on her voice and has the pre-recorded notes ready to dub the concert for tv.
