I’m not worried about the chart race… the streaming #s with Amazon are always a mystery (but huge) and she has Apple Music on lock and actual visuals on YouTube. We have to remember that predictions are based on known data that’s readily available. A lot of the #s aren’t available and almost every year Mariah tends to over-perform from what was predicted.

It might be close, but unless Brenda pulls a trick with sales some how (and she’s already been discounted at 69 cents on iTunes but being out-sold by Mariah), I don’t see her overtaking #1.

The prediction has always been difficult for holiday songs due to Amazon and other streaming platforms. The only week I'm worried about is the week leading to Christmas but those points seems a bit odd to me that it's so close. Hoping next chart week we get a breakdown in points for RATCT.

So far, i think Rockin leads by around 550k - 600k spotify streams so entire week this week, the gap might be around 1m - 1.2m. AIW's lead on other platforms can still compensate or put it in a better position overall.

Now, of course we know there's always been some manipulation in charts, and always will be. But playlisting is the least subtle. For example, multiple remixes - but here people still intentionally consume these added 'products'. As for radio, sure there's always the human factor in playlisting, but we are talking about hundreds of radio stations reporting...

I was also wondering if this is a payola thing? Forces are clearly at work to try and prevent Mariah being on top this year. Is Brenda Lee’s song that much of a phenomenon in the US? I really only know it from Home Alone. Mariah’s going to win easily worldwide, but like always Billboard seems to be all that matters…

I'm pretty sure the playlisting is part of deals, like in radio with cc deals. Well, let's see what happens and enjoy the moment because it is what it is and it's not the end of the world (I'm not saying this because of you).

BTW if any American lamb want to buy AIWFC on Amazon, Itunes and all the different platforms for me I'll transfer the money.
