I am a teacher and I don't want my kids to fail a test. When I realize that someone just didn't understand a question or task while i am correcting the test, I will give the test back to the child and explain it again and in 99% of all cases they can solve the task and get a mark that truly reflects their abilities.

It's not the best approach.

What you should be doing is handing the test back to the students and asking them to sing whole or in part 3 Mariah songs - one from the 90s, one from the 00s, and one from post 2010.

If they can do that, only then should you give them extra marks.

That's real learning.
