I'm not really seeing that. Obviously most of Mariah's followers are fans. I see a lot more yaaaassssss queen comments and things like that than negative posts.
These Tik-Tok videos have had more creativity, movement, dancing and storyline than 99% of Mariahs last 20 music videos. Hopefully this motivates her to do more and show her that it pays up.
Whats great about this resurgence of Its A Wrap is that it gives you a reason to go back and revisit these songs (MOAIA, I mean).
Now that Ive done so and being a point way beyond the disappointment of its performance, its promotion and her relationship with Nick, I find that I can appreciate what Mariah and The Dream tried to do with this album. Its just that it barely ever occurs to me to go and listen to them as they're not particularly successful and had no cultural impact, but I quite enjoy them when I do take a peak!

MOAIA has always been one of my top 5 MC albums. For its consistent vibe, and the mellow R&B which is what I live for! It's not a masterpiece as Butterfly or TEOM, perhaps, but it's always pushed the buttons for me personally. Inseparable, Candy Bling, More Than Just Friends, all gems. So very happy to see IAW get a little boost. Wouldn't have been my pick from the album, I must say, but the "wrap" tiktok is genius and glad she and the team jumped on this so early! Looking forward to seeing if the streams increase over the next week!
IKR I don't think I've ever figured in the cultural significance of a song when deciding if I like it or not. However, there are a lot of culturally significant artists and songs that I would never voluntarily listen to, maybe I do this in reverse.
