Just randomly heard the original REM version of Everybody Hurts and it reminded me of the charity version MC sang on in 2010. I'd actually love to hear her do a full version of that song. And it made me think, which is the best group charity song MC has been a part of...?
I could think of (in no particular order):
1. Everybody Hurts
2. Just Stand Up!
3. Hey Jude (from Live 8, we'll say it counts)
4. We Are The World (from Pavarotti, we'll also say it counts)
Divas Live was for a charity too, so I guess you could include You Make Me Feel! and Ain't No Mountain High Enough, from '98 and '00.

Mariah has such an emotional voice, it frustrates me that she hasn’t produced songs like IDWC or LTT or OHOMO since 2002.
I know she loves rnb, but her voice was made for those pop ballads - damn even nowadays her voice sounds best LIVE on those pop ballads and they are even easier for her to sing … she killed IDWC and LTT for example in Vegas.
all those rnb beat ballads (except WBT) are too complicated to sing live and don’t do her voice justice - oh and Yeahh I don’t like those piano ballads she produced with Big Jim etc - the emotion is missing, it’s more vocal showcase, eg Portrait is so forced.
she can still deliver she just doesn’t want to - do u remember that small snippet of TGTBAW during covid, WOW!! I wish we got the whole thing acapella.

exactly, and I have to say, her Emancipation era was so well crafted and so eventful and redeeming and awesome and gigantic, it remains my alltime favourite era by anyone ever. We came from nothing with Glitter and Charmy and then BOOM she was back and it what a way she was. She was the biggest solo artist of 2005 hand down (male or female) and she was everywhere and we were getting so many iconic moments. It was so life-changing to see. Whatever the other pop girls are currently doing, they cannot reach that level of impact, they simply can't. They have to release 147 videos and remix of one song and a new special edition of their albums every 2 weeks in order to keep up on the charts... and Mariah never did that.Originally posted by TheRealest View Post

Also TheRealest , Shonda, can you imagine how long we know each other on this forum? Fourteen years, well almost. I have to say, I joined in 2005 and i basically grew up at this place and with Mariah and with this community. It is so awesome to find so many cool people who have the same interests and actually carve out time in their daily lives in order to chat with random people from around the world on a forum. I feel so blessed and honoured knowing you and all the wonderful Mariah fans who contribute in this wonderful and epic thread about Kween.
