Just catching up.. wow at the bitterness and jealousy of Chaka Khan! The envy and bitterness just seeping out of her pours! Wow. Horrible woman. And trying to justify her behaviour suggesting people just don’t get her is hilarious. She’s clearly a horrible cow. That’s all there is to it.

It really is so stupid. Charts manipulation can only go as far. We had a former ESC entry here in GER whose record company bought the act's own single in order to push it up the charts... and they bought like 10,000 physical singles...

Mariah is on a whole other level. It's so idiotic to assume that SONY bought like 40-50 million of her albums which is what the haters are desperately trying to insinuate...

IF Mariah's music was artificially pushed then why did it stand the test of time and is still consumed today? Why is she even ahead of Madonna on Spotify who allegedly has the realest and biggest and most impactful music out of any female ever...

If Mariah's career was fake, then her music should be a 363 streams and 528 montly listeners.

Even the songs which got the singles-reduction-price treatment such as TGIFY, My All and Heartbreaker have incredibly strong streams in comparison to real hits from the same era or other female acts from the same time.

People who use this drag have inner-psychological problems and cannot be helped.

First, the RS's list has a good number of dead artists in the top 20, so this list had nothing to do with how these singers were singing yesterday but what they were capable of at their peak. Mariah may have her struggles at times now, but she was an impressive vocalist in her prime years, that is undeniable for anyone with ears. A lip sync scandal here or there doesn't change that. LOL Second, music is an art, so part of greatness isn't just about hitting the notes but also the connection the artist can build with listeners and how that stretches over time, how multi-generational that can be, how powerful that reach was. Mariah is not just a singer but a writer and producer too and has created music that kept fans engaged over a long span of time.

Mariah has had the career and artistic reach that Chaka couldn't even begin to dream about, and Chaka is bitter about it.

With that said, I still really enjoy Ain't Nobody and think Chaka was a genuine talent in her day. I hope the lambs don't gang up on her, just because that is likely her real MO here. Darlene got attention from her one-sided MC feud and sold a few extra tickets, Chaka is probably just looking to do the same. Don't give it oxygen people, let the bitter has-beens have their pity parties without the lambs.

Yep! That's it right there. Going #1 around the world every December with 100's of millions of streams is a lot to stomach. Then her catalog competes with all the other divas year around. To cope, you have to tear her down any way you can. Sadly, it's been this way from the very start. I remember the mean-spirited insults she got right out of the gate: she was a Whitney wannabe, the whistles were studio trickery, she couldn't sing live, she was just a studio/Tommy creation with no real identity or talent of her own. Blah blah blah. It was tiresome and petty then and it is so now.

She's out lasted and proven false every nasty thing. Her talent is only matched by her perseverance. There may be a queen of pop, queen of soul, queen of this and that. But Mariah is simply the Queen. Queen of Everything!

Actually, I think the last 33 years have proven that she is extremely hard working, but maybe not in the areas we'd all like. In the creative areas, like writing and the studio, she never really stops. In promotion, however, she kind of just sits back and let's things run their course (except at Christmas). Did Tommy condition her that way. You just record, let me promote. Maybe.

She stepped up and promoted IAW with five tiktoks. Her kids probably drove that. She is capable when motivated. Where I'd like to see her step up and take a more proactive approach is in directing videos and recording remixes. Both appeal to her creative side and don't take much money.

No doubt. Fans are definitely going to debate these things and RS wants to be a little divisive with positions and omissions to drive clicks. It's just crazy to see artists taking shots at other artists over a subjective list that is ultimately meaningless. Even if artists are going to acknowledge the list, it would certainly be a lot classier to approach it from a positive point of view rather than negative. Say they were unhappy with the top choices, why not just pick a few artists that they admire and opine that those artists should have been higher on the list. At least you avoid the negative energy toward specific artists that way, instead expressing greater admiration for other artists.

But me thinks Chaka just wants to get attention and has no shame in throwing other artists under the bus to accomplish that. With the Mariah, Beyonce and Mary J Blige shade, I'm sure she's getting a lot more social media mentions than usual.
