The-Dream and Mariah definitely have chemistry, I am surprised she hasn’t worked with him for a song or three on each of her albums since Memoirs
I enjoy Memoirs a lot, but I think some extra producers could have made the production more exciting and varied

It’s interesting, bc that duo basically does the same thing for Beyoncé’s albums now and are responsible for her latest hits.

It would be so cool if Mariah did this, like worked with three iconic writers and producers who usually don’t work together
Like imagine a song co-written with Cri$tyle from Einstein who wrote amazing choruses with Mariah, and Bibi Bourelly who co-writes amazing verses, and The-Dream who is great with melody and lyrics like MariahLast edited by allygdale; Wed March 15, 2023, 16:01.

I'm watching Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix. The storytelling of this documentary series is amazing. But I can't believe they don't mention Mariah as they talk about Hip-Hop crossing over to mainstream. Even as they talk about Jay-Z, considering that he had his first BB100 #1 with Heartbreaker.
This is the show. Super recommended:

Loving all the love for My Love! I've been obsessed with how she sings her verse ever since I first heard it, she put her signature Mariah stamp on that vocal and it's heaven. That and So Lonely should've been way bigger hits, I don't remember either of them getting major pushes though?
Tamar is one of the best vocalists out there right now, I mean really. We all know she's l4l so I wouldn't be surprised to hear she passed through The Butterfly Lounge.
Mariah's songs in general have the greatest ad libs of all-time, no other artist comes close. ABMB has the most classic ones, that "you and I, will always be" outro is still everything. Can't Let Go's ad libs are also perfection and Butterfly's might be the most emotional. We can't even get into her remixes and especially dance remixes, those whole sings are like the craziest ad libs ever put on record lol.

I love My Love. Her vocals are just so mesmerizing to me. The rasp and the raw of those adlibs at the end. No no no no, they don't know!!!!Proceed with Caution

Mariah worked with The Dream on her next studio album after Memoirs. What came out of their session was “Somewhat Loved (There You Go Breakin’ My Heart)”. The song was Mariah’s favourite song that she had written for MIAM at the time but by the time it came to release the album, she decided not to include it on the album.
So it eventually saw the light of day in 2021.
I don’t think there was any major rift between her and The Dream. She has only released two albums since Memoirs and he was involved on one even if his song didn’t make the cut.
She was on a different label/had different management and was using different A&R for Caution so that’s largely why The Dream wasn’t involved.
