Not sure what hosting will do (seems kinda beneath her no?), will she use it as a platform to launch a fresh MC16 project in late-Summer.

She obviously has that big RnB/HipHop concert in May so perhaps lead single just before then and an album in late-Summer?

I need a strategic and calculative release schedule like back in the days.

It's the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop (not sure how it's measured, or what marks the birth day), so having her host it can solidify her status and image for the Hip--Hop community, which is really important to her.

Mariah writes a lot of songs using hip-hop samples. As a legacy act, hosting a large event like this could be really good at this point. Shows that she is still relevant.

And if she is co-hosting with Maxwell, then they will most likely have that song out by that time.

A duet with Maxwell might stand a chance to do real well on AC/Urban AC/Hot AC radio. Since those are the stations that still give her some support anyway it would probably be the perfect fit. Assuming the song is good of course.

So the truth is she’s not hosting Summer Jam, and she may be hosting something similar later in summer, I wouldn’t get excited yet if it’s only plans

I am also not convinced she’s releasing new music when Lovers and Friends is a legacy celebration for mostly 90s and 2000s artists and she is possibly hosting a concert with someone last relevant 25 years ago

But new music is what should happen this year, she’s kept us waiting too long, and it kind of makes me sad that anything not Christmas so far is all legacy oriented

AC songs don't chart that well on the hot100 in general. But WY was a mild hit on that format. If it had been a little catchier with a little more movement to it, think Toni's Long as I Live, it might have found a decent little audience on the radio.

For H100 success I think she'd have to go more pop than she seems to want now. I'd appreciate even the small victories. Lets go #1 on Adult R&B Songs
