I can’t help but think she’s going through a breakup
Madonna and Mariah are really cursed when it comes to their love-happiness. I wish she would find Mister Right. I thot Bryan would have been it. They seemed to good together. <3
Miss her. Really looking forward to some new music! Rather now, but… it is what it is. She can do what she wants at the end of the day lol. I’ll wait and eat it upon arrival.
I must give her credit for hiring Diandre Tristan, he bought some pazzaz back into her style and re-introduced her back into fashion labels biggest brands like D&G, LV...etc. I wonder what led to them partying ways?
Though in the past decade and a half she has been consistently been surrounded by people who are snakes or unable to snap her back into the right A-list recording artist that she is.
It's time for a change and new energy.
Here we have Madonna collaborating with Max Martin and hottest producers (when she calls they come.....she still commands great respect in the industry).....Mariah has been too passive with her collaborations and played to in her lane and thus narrows her collab possibilities. She said it herself, she's now too afraid to go out and ask, she rather them come to her. Well dahling, they aren't coming. No one is saying she has to record an album with the hottest producers or artists but at least experiment or something and give us a proper single worthy song that is current and can be spun by the masses.
Exactly, she made a whole press tour about SUD and has been on a quest finding her recordings since 2020 and then announced she is working on it with Millie Bobby Brown, every summer new rumours about it are circulting... those hateful fake news trumpists of Rolling Stone run a story about it every year based on HER announcements and we are 3 years later now...
We need to hold her accountable. She's also claimed to be so inspired by lockdowns etc and has slaved herself to her recording booth... girl, why is she lying?
Also a 5 years gap is way too long no matter how we might spin this. I know we got the occasional song, but that cannot be it. She is not even giving us the songs she has recorded for her most recent Xms shows, ie Christmas Wrapping.
I also do not see any coherent promotion plan/strategy coming anytime soon. That Brandy collabo was released like 5 months after it was used in her masterclass episode. How stupid was that, please!
EVEN IF she is without any label support at the moment... someone who is employed by her should be a professional.
Sometimes I think it's amazing and play it on repeat, other times I listen to about 15 seconds, think it's terrible, and skip it
It kinda has that effect on me too. I do think in general that Cry is underrated. But I've found that, unlike most MC albums, MIAM is kind of a mood. Aside from a few tracts, Like Faded and Dedicated, I have got to be in the right mood to fully enjoy it.

I've wondered if she might be going through a breakup. It's sad if she is. Bryan has appeared to be good for her but he's young and may be ready get back to his life. If this is going on, you're right, it could be the catalyst for some great music. ...

Guess it’s selfish of me to just expect that I’m entitled to have you
There’s more to this one line than many have come up with in their entire career. She’s so underrated, under-appreciated, under-understood. And it’s okay. We know.
My remedy is Mariah’s new music. So I get crazy since I’m unmedicated for so long
Well, we have had new music pretty much every year, whether we liked it or not. I'm a greedy little lamb and always ready for more, but I've really enjoyed all we've gotten since Caution. FILAC and Save the Day are two songs on heavy rotation for me. I adore Sleigh Ride. I have also really enjoyed her collabs with Jim/Jam and Busta. BE(R) is fantastic and a good template for how to leverage her deep catalog for future hits. Mesmerized is one of my all time favorite tracts...
Anyway, my point is, I for one feel well fed even if I'm hungry for more. And I think more is coming soon.
I can’t stand Camouflage. CRINGE.
I love Cry tho. The lyrics, the vocals, the rawness.
It's so interesting how songs hit us differently. For me, Cry and Camo are nearly identical in how they resonate with me. Neither are in my top tier ballads, but both are solid and enjoyable.
Camo is smoother and more guarded. Kind of like its title. But there is rawness about Cry that is disarming, almost uncomfortable, like I am witnessing something I shouldn't be. Each title is indicative of what you get.

Camo feels too “try hard” for me. The vocals, the dozens of background vocals, the over the top lyrics…
Cry definitely comes across more genuine and emotional to me.
