Her public image has continued to improve in the last 3 years. Her streams are increasing and she is reaching a younger audience. Other artists have been talking about her. Younger artists mention her as an influence. She experimented with new music formats and has said that she is inspired and that her voice is in great shape.

I think this year we’ll get at least one good collaboration on someone else’s album. I’m hoping for an EP either of resung songs like WBT, or something completely new. Probably not a full new album until next year. But she also mentioned that she was working on more Christmas stuff.

Her online presence has been so stable. I feel like it’s been building up for something BIG.

They're waiting for the song to reach its peak on airplay before releasing the MV.
And then a remix could push the track a bit more.
It's not #1 material I feel, but Top 10 for sure.

Jumping on remixes of already successful songs is a common thing these days.
If Mariah wants more hits she's gonna need to adjust to the new rules in the charts.
I'm not sure if she's down to do that, but at least she's been very open about new collabos with "hot" artists (via social media).
