Mariah also fled an abusive marriage... it wasn't as bad as it was for Tina, but still. I think Tina must've been a great influence on Mariah.

There's something about the 80s and 90s legends. I don't know what it is.

They just seem more talented, more personality and unique. They all competed at the highest levels and managed to find their own legendary lane and duking it out with the men in both commercials and impact.

Is it because back in the day we had less access to them and thus, we hold them to a higher standard? Or is it just talent and having to fight harder to get to where they need to be. There was less cheap tricks and social media nonsense, it was more talent to not only make it but actually last.

Let's not forget, Tina was at her peak during the era of Madonna, Whitney, Janet
