I am still holding on for new music soon!

What is a little odd is, if there is nothing new coming soon then why would Mariah even bother to perform at Lovers & Friends or LA Pride? Her legacy is already cemented so it can't be for general exposure, and she seems to get anxious when performing - so there must be a bigger reason.

Also, some of the beauty shots she's posted on Instagram lately look like her makeup has been applied for filming. The make up in the yellow dress/long coat ensemble for example is a little heavier as if it's to show up on camera. Similar to when the WBT music video behind the scenes photos showed heavier make up - it was for the camera.

What day do new singles/albums tend to drop nowadays? Would be wonderful to hear something new at LA Pride!

Is it possible to enjoy what Madonna/Kylie/Lana/Whatever artist is doing without feeling the need to drag them here and castigating Mariah for not doing/being like them?

For me it is like this.... I use them as reference for what is still possible for music legends... and it infuriates me that Mariah does not participate at all in ... the music business (anymore).

For me it is like this.... I use them as reference for what is still possible for music legends... and it infuriates me that Mariah does not participate at all in ... the music business (anymore).

To be fair Madonna & Kylie last album did what.. something like 3 times the sales of Caution ? They have more support from their record company because money is still to be made with them with general EP. Like Mariah have strong support / budget around Xmas… but it’s still hard for them legacy acts. Big Energy Remix & It’s A Wrap went viral but did not chart (no radio support) and if we want to mention Kylie last single, perfect roll out, catchy tune, American Idol, video clip, remix, went viral with the gays everything perfectly aligned and not even cracking the Hot 100. Legends have a hard time producing hits in this new streaming era. It is what it is we can’t really blame her for stopping to try. It’s kind of a lost battle.

No, doubt it will do anything. Who even know this artists E-Lie and to compare this to Higher Love is a choice.

The production on this Circle Remix sounds amateur and cannot be played wide like Higher Love does. He got rid of Circles best parts and repeats the same line over and over again. Maybe if you're high and on a trance floor perhaps but no will not be something that can even remotely be played at the pride festivals.

Her name only goes so far these days, the label calls the shots. And when she's not willing to invest her dough and time we will get remixes like this E-Lie version. Unnecessary. She might as well just not release or put her official name against anything.

But the thing with BER is at least she tried and did something that has broader appeal. I mean it went Top 10 in Australia for heaven sakes, she hasn't done that in a long time.

These artists know who their target audience is....and with label support is timing their releases to perfection. Although Kylie for example is not appearing in the Hot 100 (frankly no one really expects her to) but she is smashing in markets where she has traditionally done well like the English speaking countries and the UK. She still has a very strong loyal gay global following.

Whilst Mariah's fanbase is diverse and part of the problem of marketing her these days. She needs to at least go all in with one target demographic I think. Summer would've been perfect to cater to the gay or partying crowd. Does it really offend her artistry that much her to release an utempo dance smash for Summer. Apparently it does.

Let’s take Runway as an example. It is a good song but I can’t stand the adlibs, so I rarely listen to it. Those beltings at the end don’t even sound like Mariah.

Mariah only promoted Caution in the US. It sold over 120k in traditional copies (probably 180k in sps). Caution sold just as much as MIAM in the US which was good. She should have brought the promotion to other countries as well. She also desperately needs a semi-interesting lead single in Europe for people to rediscover her. Caution was not POP:

That's interesting. The critics found no flaw in her vocals on Caution. (I didn't either).
