I’m just getting a chance to listen to this properly now. While I agree with others that it’s kind of simple, I think it’s really effective. I’m not a fan of the vocals being messed with too much though. This just further highlights how deep Emancipation is with potential hits that were never realised. The Circles stems should be given to some hot DJ (although I’d still be happy with a David Morales classic club mix) to craft a traditional remix that contains all the vocals. If Mariah’s really leaning in to being a legacy act then why not? Older songs like To Be Around You are crying out to be remixed too.

OF they are but it's not just chart success. Madonna is very active in the past 2-3 years, while Mariah wasn't and we know nothing of new releases... I don't want to put words into anyone's thoughts, but I think that's the issue.
