Hmmm idk about this one. I’m digging the chorus but I hate when she does songs with ballad like verses and then busier and for lack of a better word “boppier” choruses. This was my gripe with Save The Day as well.
That being said, the vocals sound great. Nothing like the WBT late night mix you all know you’re overrating—she sounded like a graduate of Miami Tech and y’all know it.funny how one can learn

This is what I can make out, tho English is not my first language, I'm petty confident in my ears lol. Can somebody please hep me fill in the ones I miss or misheard.
We stood there alone in that silent corridor
Those unspoken words conjured fixation capturing me
Fall helplessly into bliss
Just like all things started to switch
And exposed evеrything that I missed
Somewhat loved (somеwhat loved)
The more I thought about you (the more I thought)
The less I thought about me
And I lost myself in this dream
Somewhat loved (only somewhat)
There you go breaking my heart, breaking my heart, breaking my heart again
There’s no such thing as lovers and friends
There you go breaking my heart, breaking my heart, breaking my heart again
You only live to break my heart again
Spun out of control
In this faithless world I must own
Angel turned his back
And where wings once were
They were no longer intact
Fall helplessly into bliss
Just like all things started to switch
And exposed evеrything that I missed
Somewhat loved (somеwhat loved)
The more I thought about you (the more I thought)
The less I thought about me
And I lost myself in this dream
Somewhat loved (only somewhat)
Only somewhat
There you go breaking my heart, breaking my heart, breaking my heart again
There’s no such thing as lovers and friends
There you go breaking my heart, breaking my heart, breaking my heart again
You only live to break my heart againLast edited by BeyondIdolization; Wed June 9, 2021, 19:29.

Yeah I completely agree about the song structures.. if a song has slow verses and boppy choruses, people can’t get into it, including me. Is it a ballad or an uptempo, make up your mind lol. Silly formula.Last edited by NorthernMonkey; Wed June 9, 2021, 19:38.To avoid any upset, please note; anything I post is purely my opinion. If I feel it is a fact, I will state that I feel it is a fact. Lol.

I appreciate that Mariah’s voice has changed and we’re lucky to get new music from her. And she’s not a machine. But I don’t know how we went from the greatest song endings the world had ever heard to not even one creative run or riff for song endings. It started to go downhill with the “Eh! Ehs!” in 100% and then those got replaced with just one long high note (You’re Mine, Infinity) but I never dreamed we’d get to the point of nothing at all.

Wow, I know it's not a proper single or anything, but this is an absolute mess lol
I just don't understand what Mariah is listening to when she OKs songs like Infinity/Save the Day/Somewhat Loved for release???
I swears she's actually just trolling people haha
Hope people like it though
*goes back to playing 4th of July on repeat*

lol it’s dated for it’s a Left over track from memoirs . Lol I don’t get why people are making it sound that this Jim & terry song or songs from the rarities are a reflection of mariahs current musicality. When her actual latest one was caution .. the most acclaimed album of mariah.
