She didn't say nothing but it's quite obvious.
Listen to the last 20-ish seconds and that's her current tone.
Plus that fast arpeggio whistle is very post-2000, and something she does a lot nowadays.
She mixed the vocals very well tho.
You wouldn't notice that if you aren't a lamb that is in all the details

I like the Cardi B interview. I never would have guessed it, that Mariah would be the interviewer of anyone other than say Stevie Wonder or someone of that stature.

That was an experimental record that will surpass time. Maybe it was too ahead of its time for certain people but if you’re a real music person you get it. It wasn’t your straight typical pop record.

CAREY: I’ve always wanted to write my book because I wanted to emancipate the little girl that used to be me. The little girl who used to feel ugly and didn’t feel like she belonged. Honestly, I’m a very prudish person. But when I started doing little tiny things like, “Oh, she’s trying to dress sexy,” or, “She’s trying to always be with rappers,” or whatever, people were shocked, like I did something they’d never seen before. I was like, “Why are they making such a big deal of nothing?” I do think people are much more accepting now. The world is crazy. There’s so much racism and hate and horrible shit that goes on, but I do feel like people are, at least in some circles, allowed to be themselves and express themselves more than they were back in the day. People expected me to be something specific, but I can only be me. We’re similar in that way.

CARDI B: When I think of Mariah Carey, I think of beauty and glamour and wealth. You’re the embodiment of beauty. Nobody would ever think that you’ve been hurt before.

CAREY: I was really relating to what you were saying earlier in our conversation. As a kid, I moved around a lot and then ended up in a predominantly white neighborhood, which was hard because even though we didn’t have a lot, everybody around us had money. This kid once said, “Mariah has three shirts and she wears them in rotation,” meaning I really had nothing. I felt dirty all the time. My hair wasn’t combed out. People didn’t understand what I was. They would always be like, “What are you?” They would never be like,“Who are you?” That motivated me to want to succeed. And I believed beyond all things that it would happen. But I also knew that nobody would believe in me as much as I believed in myself. But honestly, it’s still a struggle, and no matter what, you have to keep pushing.

I am nervous about Millie being involved with Chick, I feel like the marketing for that is going to have to be very careful, like Mariah will need to blitz the press beforehand about it, like before music critics and the public get to hear it, because otherwise it might be panned

People really just want to hear Mariah on a punk and grunge record because it’s so unexpected

Like if she were to add anything to Chick, new songs, why would she work with her studio band again or The Roots as opposed to like, Rick Rubin, or someone who has had a hand in a lot of popular grunge music?

Yep, I agree.
It's been a process that started in 2018 but seems like now they're really working hard for it without looking desperate as u said.
They're doing a great job thus far.

Me too, I would love to know at what stage she's in with the Epic contract. I bet she's desperate to leave.

Her uploading that makes me wonder if her contractual agreements with them are done and she's currently shopping around for a new label?

I hope they figure it out, maybe a distribution deal with a label for the next album so it doesn’t wind up like Rarities or “Oh Santa” (2021) where the label does nothing in the way of promotion, including radio promotion, or even more than that mixing and mastering, like Mariah’s vocal engineer should not be mixing her studio records for a proper release, no offense to Rarities, I adore it, but the newly mixed tracks still sound unmixed

But I agree, I don't think she's planning a "comeback" - she has those every year if you will - but more like emphasizing in her status as a legend.

Last years have been amazing for her, she (her team) needs to keep doing what they've been doing since '18 and everything will be ok!

Memoirs week being delayed again is strange, I’m not sure I get it unless it’s coming with more than the usual and Universal had to clear some samples or features for streaming

I don’t think she will do a Rarities pt 2, “Save The Day” got 10x more recognition than the album from the press

I think if she were going to end MC30 with another rarities, she would have stuck the TEOM and E b-sides on the second one

I'm just being rational, look at the whole MC30 for each Era and see what we got: nothing new (except for the UTS vid).

There's no unreleased material in that project.

She's probably saving those records for another Rarities compilation - which I would love.

But you keep repeating it. That's why it seems like you don't want it to happen.

Also, most of Angels Advocate is not new, neither is MC vs JS. Most of it is released already one way or another.
As for the EP's, we got some very special (unreleased) stuff like the Live Debut and some of the remixes.
