The star is cute. But I agree on the OC part. that song needs to be in her canon each time and always.

Yeah, I agree, The Star is cute and she's able to do a good job live, but I can't believe she only performed the masterpiece that is One Child only once.
It should be permanent in her setlist.

So whilst we’re enjoying FILAC for what it is, it doesn’t seem to be a general listeniner favourite.. purely from what I’m reading in Facebook comments on posts by music publications etc.

I suppose she took a risk with it because it’s so different and it paid off among fans.

Hopefully it can regain some popularity but I think it’s gone if I’m honest. Big shame.

Well the song can grow during the season. It's a nice add to her Christmas catalogue and can work in some radio/playlists formats. I'm happy she's released something like this, I needed another latin ballad

Heavenly's or FILAC's?

Imo FILAC's is far more messy... with too many layers, too much going on and some random whistle notes..
Heavenly's choir part is so underrated....

I think busy is a better term to use. FILAC only had the choir part at the end while Heavenly had it going from the beginning. Both versions are unique in their own way.
At first the gospel part of FILAC seemed busy for me but now I’m getting used to it. I think the visuals helped a lot cause now I only stream the song via YouTube instead of Spotify.
The video justifies the usage of the choir in the song, in my opinion.

And I don't think she was thinking in commercial success with this one - she did that with the Oh Santa! Remix and didn't work anyway.

Heavenly is a mess since the very beginning.
The last 30 seconds with the choir is the best part and the less busy IMO. I really enjoyed that part.

That being said, I prefer FILAC, from the verses to the chorus to that final gospel ending. It's a journey.

Me too. It gets better with every listen but I try not to overplay it.

I dont think TGIFY is about anyone, its just a cute moment? Subtle Invitation and Lullaby are about Derek Jeter… I can see I Only Wanted being about Luis, but could still be about Derek as she says “someone was saving my life for the first time”, and we know he played that role.
