I think it is a generalization to declare that people who dont like that part dont like gospel music in general. I love a lot of gospel music but I find that part a bit overdone. Yes, I think I was unclear. I was responding to people who made the statement that Gospel isn't as popular, so the GP could be turned off by the outro (hence suggesting that the part without the outro should be the main song). I agree that the main version doesn't follow the regular format.

And I agree with you that the outro is super busy. But I also think that even that business is actually Kirk Franklin's part. He arranges choirs. That whole part is probably his arrangement. Although it does sound similar to Heavenly, which was Mariah's arrangement... So I guess I don't know what I'm saying! lol. You're note wrong. I dont think so? She never told us who her songs were about until the book came out, cause she always said it was better they were left open to interpretation. Obv we have played the guessing game over time, sometimes correctly, but I dont think theres an actual quote from her saying its about Luis. It would make sense, of course…..but to my ear, it’s not a personal song, and she peppers personal songs with coded references to the individual.

Her belts in FILAC are thinner and not this healthy and open.
FILAC belting sounds more like QuarantineRiah/WBTLateNightMixRiah (more metallic) while the belts on this ad are warmer and healthier.
Remember she recorded FILAC in February/March, and she probably recorded this recently, which makes me really excited.
If this is where her current voice is at at this moment she's going to slay.

I think the Honest Vocal Coach deserves to be dragged for parts of her review. Yes, she gushed over her vocals and whistle, LOVE that, but it was really her comments pertaining to Kirk that were off. My bf walked in while she was making that hand gesture signaling 'rap' during Kirks part, which btw isn't even rap, and he immediately noticed how tone deaf it was. She is a yt woman and clearly doesn't understand poc flavored music like r&b and gospel, and it just made her look ignorant to a poc household watching her videos. I hope she learns from this.
