My personal issue with McDonalds is the usual bad press around them when it comes to health.

Yes, Pepsi is junk food all the same, but there is with McDonalds an association that I've always seen with poor health, poor diet, bad food choices etc - it is the poster child for bad food.

Beyond that, I agree with bm08 - the video with her reading the lines is awkward... but this will likely be huge with a lot of money behind it and a lot more press and promo.

Sure there may be backlash, but all up I think Mariah will still do well out of it.

And I REALLY want a burger with extra pickles now.

People commented on them needing better photoshop skills as though this isnt exactly what they were going for.

Btw this is only the social media announcement. The real ad for television comes out in December. She will design some of their packages and probably some merch.

Details are out. The so called Mariah Menu is just free items that are permanent stables of the McDonalds menu after you spend $1. Each day is just a different “freebie” but the items are not specialized or Mariah specific. Just the plain old burgers, fries, nuggets, apple pies.

It’s lazy. The worst part is Mariah blasted this on social media but McDonalds doesn’t even mention it on their site anywhere.

The original is currently at 699.5M views.

I think that user meant McD being lazy as in not producing any MC branded collaterals, burger’s wrapping, disposable cups or take away bags/items. McD called it a Mariah’s menu but it will still be the same cheese burger and apple pie, with the typical McD branded packaging.

Anyways, we get that you dislike it and that's fine. But at least try to be factually accurate (e.g. the post I made above already proves that their partnership goes beyond "just free items"

Buble has released two videos to some of his Christmas songs, he's pushing hard for those Christmas coins as well. Mariah may be the face of Christmas but he's the giant killer in the background with his whole album getting crazy streams.

This song is crying out for a AIWFCIY (MMWCT) style video. It's the closest sonically she has to AIWFCIY and is far and away her 2nd biggest Christmas song and in many people's minds is the definitive version.

Whilst i'm not big on diluting your brand with more superfluous tie-ins, this is pretty major and will be interesting to see how it turns out. McDonalds is a household name and it'll be interesting to see if this boosts the song any further (seems almost imaginable that it can really help at this stage cause AIW is already ubiquitous).

The promo so far is obviously going for the camp/low-budget vibe. Clearly the memes are picking up already. I expect a big transformation the closer to the date of December 13th.

Hopefully Mariah includes C(BPCH) in the new Xmas TV special - they can then use that clip as an official video for the song and it can be the smash it deserves. It is absolutely the best rendition of the song - better than the original or any other cover. Vanilla Prime-riah belts everywhere - exactly what the public expect from her.
