I really think Spotify is not helping her at all. They never listed FILAC in any major playlists the week of its release despite the song featuring Khalid and AIWFCIY is absent from a lot of major playlist as well, including “Christmas Classics”. This really shows the power of playlists.

Can't she just pay to get them higher on the list? I mean everyone else looks to be doing. How much is it really?

That’s the only explanation for FILAC not making it on the new music Friday playlist. She did not pay. I’m sure playlist deals are the new radio payola because it’s very inconsistent.

Her best chance is the following week (and maybe the other one).

I wouldn’t say impossible. I would upgrade that to an “unlikely” status, but it could happen! …but it would be by a just barely ahead chart points war.

In order for it to go #1 this week, it would need to increase in streams by 30% (approximately giving her 55 more chart points) and Adele’s song would have to decrease in streaming by about the same, 30%.

For this last week’s Hot 100 chart, Mariah went up by 47% and Adele went down by 35% in streaming, but I’m not sure if we’ll get around those same changes in percentages again since those were due to the start of the Christmas season happening on Dec 1st and Adele going down in the 2nd week after her album had been released.

Mariah will gain a lot on radio too this week, while Adele is starting to fall.

So we’ll see! I think at the very least she’ll definitely hit #2 and be closer to #1 than we think.

"I fell so deep, I was so naive" is the best part of the song, hands down. Not the belts, nor the whistle, although those are great, too. The transitions from a breathy chest voice to falsetto in rapid succession is just *chef's kiss* absolute pure perfection.

I think that entire section of the song is just my favorite, because "help, Leslie" immediately precedes this part.

Contrary to what everybody seems to feel right now, Im so happy that both Brenda K. Lee and Darlene Love are getting this kind of attention and recognition. They so deserve it.

Yeah, well, change impossible for unlikely then. But let's be real, it's not happening.
I think she will be at #2 with no abysmal difference in chart points (maybe 20-25ish?).

This week the point difference was 100 (EOM 339, AIW 239).
With Adele decreasing and MC increasing, EOM could be like 300ish and AIW 275ish, it's a wild thought of course, but I imagine it will be something like that.
I'd like that chart run: #3 - #2 - #1 haha.

I don't agree with this everybody deserves everything thing. No one deserves anything other than what the points show in the end, if it's fair game.

All three are already enjoying much success, be it in royalties, tickets, endorsements, popularity, etc.

On a personal note, I don't like Brenda's song, and there is a much better version of Darlene's song. I am not being disrespectful, I am stating personal taste and preference. As well, here in Europe, I never ever hear either of the two songs.
