Doesn’t that 3.5 million spread show the impact of calling out Pandora for their shadiness though? I think it was a stitch in time…She jumped from having only 81K listeners (can you imagine!) to 5.9 million this week. Some of this is definitely Pandora.Last edited by Askforsnow; Mon December 20, 2021, 03:15.

I mean besides Brenda Lee, Kelly Clarkson is so popular on Pandora, I’d say, she’s the Queen of Pandora Christmas because her label have her doing all sorts of ads and promos on there something MC was doing back in 2019 & 2020.

From what Mariah seems to be saying, Sony is pure trash. They are doing diddly-squat and are simply like a leach sucking all the money from her catalogue sales even though Mariah has to do everything herself to promote her music and create her own Christmas franchise, including making her own ocassional iphone 4 quality music videos (Save the Day...). No wonder she is forced to diversify her brand with McDonalds, Walkers and computer games - she needs to fund her future artistic endeavours.
Now we know - one of the biggest selling artists and one of the most chart successful artists in the world is on her own. Although, of course, we don't know the whole story. Perhaps Sony would do more but only if Mariah submits to their demands/control....

If 3.5 million is the spread, that's HUGE! This whole time I figured Pandora was contributing to her streaming count. But no. This week it is and it appears to have widened the spread. If AIW ever gets added to the Classic Christmas playlist on Spotify it's game over. No contest. The song is a beast.
Pandora surely helped, but she was ahead on streaming before fixing that anyway.
#1 on Amazon Music and Amazon Premium, #4 on Apple Music, #3 on US Youtube, #1 on Deezer and other platforms we don't know of (well, and now we also have Facebook).
She was (and still is) doing amazing on Spotify, but she can go #1 without playlisting (on the classics one). That makes everything more legendary IMO.
But at the same time, it's unfair.
Look at that gap tho. Of course she also is way ahead on airplay and sales (without discount) compared with other xmas classics.

I wonder if it was only by Mariah's side (I mean MC Team calling out Pandora), or the platform also feeling exposed, or a mix or both things. Very fishy.

Or if you're a touring force like Céline or Madonna.
It's a common thing that artists now tend to diversify her brand and do collabos (some of them very weird and even cringe, and I'm including MC here too).
Look at Rihanna for example. She makes 10x times more Money with Savage X Fenty than with her music, and she reached billionaire status thanx to that.
Everything it's worse when u aren't 30 anymore, especially if u are a woman.
And I prefer Mariah to have more control over what she wants VS having a lil more of support - at this stage of her life and career.
Sure, it's harder, but she's doing good as we can see. She's created an imperium that will keep her relevant forever.

Love how unstoppable she's during these weeks.
She's dethroned massive hits like Mood and now EOM (with their insane airplay numbers) and TayTay had to use every single existing tactic to get a #1 for 1 week with only 1 point of difference LMAO.
Queen thingz.

Assuming nothing will happen to the chart rules in the foreseeable future, and AIW will continue to return to #1 for 2 weeks annually on average, Mariah will then be able to achieve spending 100 weeks on the top spot of Hot 100, as well as regaining the honour of having the longest running #1 song in hot 100 history, in approximately 7-8 years.Last edited by MayoAndMustard; Mon December 20, 2021, 12:57.

The good thing is that the album is charting in more countries every single year and also longer than the year before... so consumption sales will hit 500k and one day could exceed that.My Chart

Although it's the #1 song globally it's loosing the battle in the States to RATC on Spotify and Wham pretty much everywhere else.
