The Rarities is such a special record. What a gift!

Every song has something special. Some of the tracks I didn't love at first listen are still better than the majority of other artists' major releases from their respective eras and the majority of music today - in my opinion.

I also enjoy hearing HQ versions of the bonus tracks and B-sides that I have always loved. "Do You Think Of Me" was a track I slept on for years, but now i relate to it in a different way. It is pure sensuality and so so hot.

I am grateful for the multiple versions of "Loverboy" but I still can't get over how hard the original "Firecracker" version goes. For a song from 2000 to sound this fresh despite using a familiar stolen sample and a nearly identical melody to the version she released in 2001...blows my mind. The true successor to "Fantasy" in my mind.

"Cool On You," "It's A Wrap," and "GTFO" make a nice trilogy for me. Her tell-off tracks are some of her most fun.

Was just thinking how the legends compared to the youngins in terms of success through the years. It's staggering what Britney and Christina were able to achieve by 20....and Rihanna made huge inroads between 20-30 years of age (though album successes were not as big as the singles). Mariah and Madonna and Janet just continued to pull through all the way up 45 years of age. I wonder if this next generation will have that level of success when they hit 40.

As great as the result is, it seems as though people need any excuse to party and be outside LOL. Social distancing out the door.

I wonder who will be performing at the inauguration and parties.......all these big artists celebrities have stayed away from Trump the past 4 years, watch them all try to get on that inauguration.

I wonder how the process works for these things, would the artist reach out to the party or would it be the other way around.

Back when Obama was inaugurated it was mostly a Beyonce (she sang quite a few times) and Aretha show.

This year, it's mostly Lady Gaga so i'm sure she'll be back front and centre. Whilst i don't doubt Gaga's feelings, sometimes her delivery (over dramatic) at these political events comes across contrived almost fake not genuine.

Sizeable jumps today across the board with the Global performance skirting with the Top #100. Positionally down slightly from last year but is tracking at least 10% higher than last year.

UK cracks the Top 50 (and the earliest it has ever hit 100k streams) and the US has been unleashed with the largest streams since Election Day and also very high positionally at #70 (she's now also starting to overtake all these Ariana album cuts which are all quickly declining).

Looking at the competition, Brenda Lee is not far behind with around 253,970 (#145) streams yesterday.

Outside of Christmas song....it looks like Dakiti is hitting hard in the Latin American markets and it's combined global streams are outperforming Dance Monkey at this time last year (it's still gaining in America though will not hit quite as hard as Dance Monkey in the European markets). Also Ariana's singes are falling fast so she's no longer a threat like Thank U Next was 2 years ago.

Next Week will be interesting with the rumoured release of both Lil Nas X and Justin Bieber/Shawn Mendes, let's see if any of those eventuate. The market is still rife for a big song to dominate, the charts are so weak at the momment.
