Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show Survey Results

Ahead of Super Bowl LVII, VegasInsider conducted a survey representing the US population focused on their opinion on the upcoming halftime show, which will be headlined by Rihanna on the 12th of February, 2023.

MOST WANTED GUEST PERFORMER

The survey respondents were asked to pick their most wanted guest performers for Rihanna’s halftime show, based on the long list of all of her previous collaborations. Britney Spears came out on top with 22.6% of votes, followed by Eminem with 19.46% of votes and ASAP Rocky with 14.53% of votes. 14.1% of Americans would prefer to not see any guest performers, and 12.54% would like for Drake to make an appearance.

Rihanna collaborated with Britney Spears on the remix of her song “S&M”, which landed at #1 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart.

I have a question why is Britney credited as feature in scream & shout?what’s the difference from hold me closer?she’s known for this song and she sings big parts from it, in the single cover it doesn’t say “feat” so what’s the difference?

Featured artists only used to appear on a song in a reduced capacity. I think originally the idea was that a song was created, then you’d ask someone to feature on it - but the song could and would exist with or without them.

Whereas if it’s a duet, it should be ‘and…’.

‘Scream and Shout’ is a great song, but it’s Will’s song, in the same way ‘Me Against The Music’ is definitely Britney’s song and not Madonna’s. Same as ‘Move Like Jagger’ is definitely Maroon 5’s song (not Xtina’s) and Umbrella is definitely Rihanna’s (and not Jay’s).

Tom’s Diner is Giorgio Moroder’s song though. It was for his album, and as a producer, created a brand new instrumental for the song. Britney is simply a featured vocalist.

I believe there was a new deal signed a few years ago, but I’d say it’s a grey area as to how valid it is. Seeing how Britney was in a conservatorship at the time it was agreed, it would very harsh to ask her to abide by a contract she didn’t personally commit herself to now that she’s out of it.

Usually when an artist appears on another’s song, they include a blurb in the credits about them appearing courtesy of their own label, do we know what the situation was over Hold Me Closer?
