I'm not a big Celine fan but I'm getting excited for this album, I like when she does some more uptempo songs - ANDHC and OH are probably my favorite albums from her!

Why?! She IS sexy - just not in your conventional Britney Spears way. I think she's more a glamorous sexy ala J Aniston.

Anyway, I agree that she shouldn't try and use her image to sell her music (which I don't think she's ever done anyway - but I can see why you made that comment, Taking Chances anyone?!). All about the voice Dion!

And a Gold certification in the US. Depending on the week, she might just get her next number one album in the USA, which would be amazing. I can't wait to see her Canadian numbers!
But AC radio has turned its back to Celine since 2004. It will be hard for her to have another #1 there.

What's the point in recording dance songs if they won't be performed in her next show? They will be like Sorry For Love or Reveal, songs that only the people who bought the album know.

I think that it's the right time to record a jazz album (it was among her future projects some years ago) and perform several songs in the show next year. What's more, if the album has a unified direction, she will probably receive good critics and some nominations for AMAs, Grammys... Remember that some critics didn't like the fact that ANDHC and TC were too eclectic and Allmusic praised 1 fille & 4 types and wanted her to do an English version.

Personally, I'm more interested in her upcoming French album. I want to see if Benzi and Veneruso repeat themselves as they did in "D'elles" ("La Diva" = "Papillon", "Le temps qui compte" = "Contre nature"). I would like her to work with Goldman again, so that he can direct her how to perform like on "D'eux." I would love some contributions from Gerald de Palmas, lyrics by Luc Plamondon. I usually like a song because of the music and hardly ever pay attention to the lyrics. However, "Dion Chante Plamondon" is very interesting. The songs don't talk about love, but about many other things that happen to ordinary people, the way she tells us a story in "Oxygene." On the contrary, I couldn't care less for the lyrics on "D'elles," which were meant for a specific public (women). Now, I think she has to sing for everyone.

I'd rather CeCe stick to the ballads and not change direction too much - Ana did that and now she's giving out paper bags at Tescos.

The Guardian[/url]]Why the new Celine Dion documentary is a thing of wonder
Forget the likes of Don't Look Back and its ilk. Celine: Through the Eyes of the World is a music documentary that really gets under the skin of its out-of-this-world subject

Not made up … still from Celine: Through the Eyes of the World

Celine: Through the Eyes of the World
                  Production year: 2010
                  Country: France
                  Cert (UK): PG
                  Directors: Stephane Laporte
                  Cast: Celine Dion, Rene Angelil

People often cite DA Pennebaker's Don't Look Back as the greatest music documentary of all time, but is it? Is it really? I don't know about you, but I tend to judge the quality of a music documentary on the following concrete three-point criteria:

                  1. How many lion cubs does the subject cuddle during the film?

                  2. How many bemused African children does the subject tearfully coerce into performing awkward romantic duets?

                  3. How many times does the subject declare "Thank you so very much for allowing us to share love with the world" to a crowd of people in a manner that suggests being allowed to share love with the world is of grave importance to them?

If I remember correctly, Bob Dylan doesn't even try to do any of these things during Don't Look Back. But Celine Dion, on the other hand, manages to cram every last one of them into the trailer for her new tour chronicle, Celine: Through the Eyes of the World. Truly, she is a thing of wonder.

Celine: Through the Eyes of the World, out this week, follows the singer's 2008 Taking Chances world tour, and promises to show both sides of Celine Dion. Yes, she's an incredibly wealthy singer who dazzles audiences around the world with inexplicable Roy Orbison cover versions and songs about horrific maritime disasters.

But the film also lifts the lid on Celine Dion's private side. She doesn't like to talk about her soup-ladling trips to Africa, for instance. Or her time spent holding Muhammad Ali's hand in a slightly patronising way. She doesn't like to talk about all the disabled women she's kissed. Or the frequent zoo trips that allow her to nuzzle giraffes and gaze adoringly at zebras while her husband clutches farmyard animals to his chest in a profound demonstration of inter-species empathy. That's private, so we should be grateful that Celine has chosen to set a heavy-handed montage of all of those things to a video of her performing All By Myself for the film. True, she might pronounce the song's title as "Ah Bah Ma Shev", but that doesn't detract from the sheer emotion of the moment. Much.

Of course, you'd expect nothing less from Celine Dion. The woman is a renegade. She works outside all perceived boundaries of rational thought. You want proof? Fine – find me another singer who can be found on the internet dancing like a chicken to an impromptu rendition of Who Let the Dogs Out. No? What about another singer who can somehow manage to get through about 130,000 bathtubs of water a year in a home they don't even live in? Still not convinced? OK, last chance – find one other singer on the face of the planet who doesn't think that Celine Dion performing a cover version of AC/DC's You Shook Me All Night Long with Anastacia is the worst idea in all of human history. I rest my case.

This is the reason why Celine Dion deserves to be cherished. And this is also the reason why Celine: Through the Eyes of the World deserves to go down in history as the most important music documentary ever made. That and the bit where her husband hugs the lamb. Words simply cannot express what a powerfully emotional moment that is.

This is a little off-topic, but I'm just in complete awe over her private Brunei concert at the moment. The setlist was perfect, the band were absolutely incredible, Celine was vocally on top form throughout the whole night and she sang everything live, the instrument improvisation section was unbelievably impressive and I love how she she performed complete versions of every song - including the 8 minute album version of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now".

                                      I see it like this:

                                      USA - 500k
                                      UK - 300-500k (the UK still LOVES her - 500k+ of My Love, 400k TC, 120k ATW + 60k A New Day DVD - since 2007)
                                      Canada - 200-400k
                                      Australia - 35k (maybe :-? )
                                      Germany - 50k
                                      France - 75-100k

                                      = I think she'll get like you say a good 1.5m. I hope for 2m

Celine Dion = luckiest bitch amongst the three.

She's not lost her voice that much and it's observable(glaringly) that,as a huge selling artist becomes older,his/her demand as a touring artist increases.
Celine has the pipes to back it up and she's become one of the biggest draws for concert goers.

Yes, of the three, I think her voice has matured the most, whilst remaining as true to its original sound as possible. She's stated on many occasions that her voice has changed, and sounds a bit different now - her belting has lost some of its power (which is to be expected) but somehow, her range seems to have increased Or rather, she's making use of registers now that she didn't back in the day.

One reason I've loved this decade of Celine is that she has used her voice differently; back in the 90's, everybody wanted the power notes all the time, hence the reason some of the media labelled her as a shouter. Nowadays, there's much more feeling, emotion, and a richer tone in her voice (bar the middle of her Vegas run, when she had SEVERE 'Vegas voice' - not a pleasant time to be listening to her in my opinion). But yes, Celine!

When did she have "Vegas voice"?

I personally don't like how she sounded on the "A New Day..." DVD. She sounded nasal and as if she had a really bad cold. She had a really delicate tone in the 90s that was really pleasant to listen to, and whilst she is still a very impressive singer technically, the way she sounds now is quite a lot different in my opinion - it's almost as if her accent has completely changed.

Thanks! I'm surprised they released the concert that they did. I've heard some audio from her earlier concerts, and also some later ones, where she sounded a hell of a lot better. The show where she has really short hair is probably the best one vocally. I also like the show near the release of "Taking Chances" where she sung the Elvis cover again - which was marvellous by the way.

She really, really doesn't! Mariah's music taste has already been ruined in my opinion, let's try not to have a negative influence on Celine's whilst she's still giving her fanbase what they want.

I want another upbeat happy song like 'That's The Way It Is' released as a single.

^ Yeah, more Pop/uptempo tunes would be great!

When she goes back to Vegas I'd love her to jazz up the setlist a bit. She neglects quite a lot of her pre-"Falling Into You" material during the shows, and people are getting more and more aware of when she's lip-syncing to the more vocally challenging numbers. After A New Day... and the Taking Chances Tour, it'd be nice of her to perhaps omit at least one or two of the following: "The Power Of Love", "My Heart Will Go On", "It's All Coming Back To Me Now", "To Love You More", "River Deep, Mountain High" and "I Drove All Night". Whilst she still could probably give a good bash at all of these songs live, during an extensive tour, she would undoubtedly have to use pre-recorded support and I just think it's a shame when she has a three-decade-spanning career full of sparkling gems that have never seen the light of day on stage. I know those are the songs that everyone comes to see, but surely she must be bored of lip-syncing to the same "The Power Of Love" track every single night?

I wonder if Celine makes a song with David Guetta ... I would NOT be surprised

but just imagine his beat and Celines voice
