American drag queen Monét X Change has quit Haters Roast-The Shady Tour last minute to accept Madonna‘s offer to be on her new music video being filmed in Los Angeles this days.

According to this post of Phi Phi O'Hara (a previous competidor in the same reality show), many drag queens were called to be part of the video (including her, that refused LOL).

I'm liking the few things we know so far.

No... the way I see it is they asked everyone last minute to ensure total secrecy and to avoid a paparazzi storm. Photos of Madonna on set in her new video will still be a valuable exclusive, I’d have thought.

I agree. People, especially younger generations take Madonna's contribution to pop culture for granted. She has been so influential in the music and entertainment industry that somehow, today, the world feels like they don't need her anymore. They call her "desperate", yet, to me, she keeps being an example of self-belief, strength and being able to live your life in your own terms and to the fullest regardless of what the public expects of you... that requires a lot of guts.

Being controversial now, but I've also thought this is a race thing too... No one would dare to trash Aretha, Janet or Mary J Blige the way the public does with Madonna... of course because doing so would be racist... yet bashing a 60 year old white woman seems perfectly alright... Plus, M has dealt with nasty comments throughout her entire career, which probably means she's been doing the right thing all along, despite the haters, or probably exactly because of them. I'm glad she pisses some people off, instead of being EVERYONE's darling - how boring and REDUCTIVE.
