Yes, I remember it vividly. I collected everything and this huge add in the paper about the Pepsi commercial was for my scrabbook of course. And then I sat there at the tv on March 2 and recorded it on VHS. And played those two minutes again and again. The next day I bought my first ever cd-single and a huge part of the lyrics of Like A Prayer was in my head already because of the commercial. And then of course I saw the video for the first time and I thought how odd it was, we got the commercial first while it was obviously later filmed than the video. And oh, how lucky I felt I had recorded the commercial after it was pulled almost immediately.

I follow her on IG, but just scroll by the stories that are not so important. I follow over 2000 people. I don't have the time to block the ones with uninteresting stories or be bothered about it. Maybe you are lucky, that you have the time to be bothered?

I can't believe she almost made Vogue a B-side song.

That is one of the best songs in Pop history.

I know. Although first time I heard it, it felt like a new version of Express Yourself. The intro's sound similar IMO. I'm talking about the single remix of course as that was the one played on radio.

Maybe they didn't really ask for a b-side, but Madonna recorded it for a commercial (that fell through) and Madonna thought it would be good as a b-side as it didn't really fit the I'm Breathless album and so it wouldn't go to waste.

She didn't often save songs for another era, so I guess she didn't want to put it on the shelf. Spotlight is one of the few ones I can think of right now that was used for a later album. (written for True Blue, used on You Can Dance). Stay (written before the first album, but re-written and used for the second album) is another one that comes to mind.

Madonna doesn't always see the potential of her own songs. Thank God Warner thought it was too good to be a b-side. Same goes for Into The Groove. Madonna wanted to give it away, but we are lucky she did record it herself. It turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 1985.

I recorded the teasers and the comercial. Here in Portugal the add was played for a few days before it was pulled off the air.
The next day I recorded the song from the radio and bought the single a few days later, because at the time we had the releases a week after its official day.

The releases were always like a week after the official launch of of the singles and albums. To get the maxi singles there was only one record store in Lisbon that had them. It was a store that was aimed at djs and they always had the maxi singles from Madonna

I still love Who's That Girl, the movie and song. The song is one of my favorite ever. Was so lucky to finally hear it live on the RH tour. Fortunately I recorded that performance, because for reasons I still don't know, she cut it off the DVD. And because of that, that DVD is the only Madonna release I've never bought. I download it illegally, but in HD

Well she scrapped WTG fairly early on didn’t she? I can’t remember. I’m so happy she played it in London, but I remember if being quite a muted response. The version was shite though so maybe that had something to do with it

We did however also get LAP and a speech for world AIDS day... and that version of LAP is the absolute single best Madonna live moment I’ve ever seen. There was just something immensely special and intimate about it and everyone was just so united and with her.

I swear she’s in slow training so she can just do a guitar tour of her old songs when she can’t dance anymore - it’s the only way she does some of them nowadays

I can't forgive her for Love Don't Live and Who's That Girl being left out of the final edition. For the TV broadcast I get that there were time issues, but for the DVD it's unforgivable.

I think that that collaboration, if it didn't happen on Hard Candy, when her husband worked on the album and she was in the studio also, it won't happen now, I guess...
