If I remember correctly her portion of RH bundles was around 10k, so with arena tour I don't think she will see big numbers unless everybody redeems album in the first week.

Without tickets I think she may sell 30-50k in the US. I can't even say what I think of US, but I don't see it topping 30k.

Everything will depend on the single, and will people like it. Also streaming, regardless of Maluma, Anitta, or anyone else can work only so much. Maybe as much as "Bitch I'm Madonna", so it can at least allow her to chart the lower end of Hot 100 for a week.

I think we'll get a solid album, but I can see her only pushing two singles, with third one probably getting a TUTR treatment during the tour.

If she get's to 200k in US and 60k in the UK, we can say that she will end up around 500k ww pure sales. Not bad, but it clearly shows how much of a struggle it is to be older than 30 in this shitty business.
It’s ok to be cautious and then be happy if it surpass your expectations, but I think you’re being too pessimistic...

Do you really think she’s gonna fall from the 116k pure sales opening week of RH to 30-50k? A 65% drop? Even without the ticket bundle, RH pure sales were above 100k on debut week.
I know sales have declined in these past 4 years... but not that much, and they’ve declined specially for streaming type of artists whose audience don’t need to buy records anymore, not for artists like her.
I guess she’ll have multiple editions too which will increase sales from fans as well.

I don’t think she’ll sell less than 75k pure sales on 1st week based on her fanbase alone. More than that if the 1st single has some type of success/hype and she promotes on TV on 1st week.

On top of that, if she has a ticket bundle this time too, even for arenas, it can make a huge difference if handled correctly (physical copies and not only digital, all dates on sale by the album release date or making it a 1st week exclusive). Look at Pink, Shania or BSB huge ticket bundle numbers on 1st week (on arenas tours).

And if it’s released in Summer, sales are really low and there are very few releases those months, so I’m sure she’ll be #1 in most places. (Maybe, as you said, there’s a streaming artist releasing that week too... but otherwise, she’s safe).

Mariah sold 85k in 4 months ( correct me if I m wrong) , there is no way Madonna could sell that in its first week.

I mean Ariana Grande on top of popularity with a smash hit single debuted with 110 k in pure sales, and now you’re expecting M whose new material will be totally ignored by radio and streaming, to debut in the range of 80k .....,,

For me a 40-50 k will be already a successful debut , all factor considered.

Why make that comparison. Mariah has seen abysmal sales with Chanteuse - according to Billboard, sales as of November 2018 are 127,000. That's 4 years worth of sales. RH sold nearly as much as that in its first week in 2015. Neither of those albums had big singles. Caution had a tough road to overcome. Badly handled single releases didn't help there. For what it is, it did great. I think nympho's 75k pure sales first week is realistic.

          • 75K pure sales on first week without a ticket bundle
+100K pure sales on first week with a ticket bundle

SPS units won't be much different than the pure sales figure on first week, probably 3K-5K extra / more and that's it.

            • So last time we had:

              1. Standard Edition - 14 tracks
              2. Deluxe Edition - 19 tracks
              3. Super Deuxe Edition - 23 tracks

Do we think/want something similar this time?

I’m not against having as many songs, but I miss the days of a standard tracklist. I know we got so many songs because most of them leaked, but even MDNA had 17 new songs on the deluxe edition.

I think I’d like 12 to 15 new songs this time and less editions. Which will never happen.

I also wonder if she’ll go retro and have an exclusive bonus track on a vinyl edition and make that something unique too.
I have a bad feeling about this.

I think she can get 10k extra units from streaming. It has been 4 years since RH and streaming has gotten much bigger since then. 5k would be a bit of a fail - that would match RH and her streaming profile did rise a bit since then.

                • I want her to go back to 12 tracks albums with a couple bonus tracks here and there and that's it.

Chanteuse opened with 58k copies. (Chart was still sales only then)
Caution with 51k (43k pure sales).
12% drop (25% on pure sales).
Chanteuse total is 127k as of Nov 18.
Caution has sold 87k pure sales so far and will probably reach 100k by the end of the tour, considering it’s still charting on Album Sales.
                                21% drop.

Rebel Heart sales were much higher, on debut week than Chanteuse. Why should Madonna’s new album sales now suddenly be similar to Mariah’s to take her as a comparison?

Also, as I posted, you can see despite a 4.5 years gap, the decline both on opening week and in total are below 25% for Mariah.
Why expect something like a 60% drop for Madonna?
                                75k means a 35% drop already...

And the Ariana example is useless here. She’ll reach 2xPlat with less than 300k copies sold. Like Cardi B or so many current artists for whom pure sales are so irrelevant as streaming is for artists like Madonna or Mariah.

Caution kind of confirmed what Chanteuse did. So in 2017 we might think of it as an exception, but now in 2019 very very low sales is trend for Mariah.
