I have a bad feeling about this.

Nice to see they put this non-single song in this first CD filled with classic hit singles songs.
It's an odd choise but it makes some sense (commercially speaking).

          • “God Control” is like the best and coolest thing that came out from MX era. Shame it wasn’t treated properly as a single.
Rock lives forever: Led Zeppelin . Metallica . Pink Floyd . Nirvana . Radiohead . Pearl Jam . Oasis . Iron Maiden . Nine Inch Nails
Approved Popstars: Michael Jackson . Madonna . Britney Spears . Beyoncé . Rihanna

Yes, everyone thought it would be a single and then "I Don't Search I Found" was the 4th single (even without a video).

"God Control" still is Madame X 2nd most watched video on YouTube.

              • It’s an odd inclusion. Madonna has rarely appeared in the Now compilations (outside of Santa Baby on the Christmas albums) so I wonder if Interscope are trying to milk her catalogue whilst they’ve got it?

Yeah, Madonna rarely get on NOW projects and as far as I Know Madonna never appeared on a "numbered" NOW compilation, only on special projects from NOW (like this one).

They are much probably trying to cash in on it while they still can. That's for sure. Probably they supplied Madonna at an affordable price. Usually NOW don't put Madonna songs as they are both pricey and rarely cleared to be used.

If I'm not mistaken "Holiday" and "Frozen" were also part of some special NOW CDs (can't remember when exactly... will look it out).

"Hung Up" is the first song on the 2nd CD of "Now That's What I Call 00's" that was released in 2010.

"Into The Groove" is on "Now 30 Years" from 2013 and on the "Now That's What I Call Legends" that was released in 2014.

This is a special project so it makes sense for them to be able to clear a song to get on the compilation. Since it's a recent song that was never much promoted it makes sence that Madonna authorized it to be a part of it as it's also a way to promote the song (I'm sure Interscope/Universal alone couldn't clear the song to be put on a different album). Today these compilation are not only CDs but also streaming playlists.

                  • I loved the tiktok special last night. Sickick is so sweet. They have great musical chemistry. I'm excited to hear future songs remixed by him.

                      • Her looks just hurt my eyes. Those sunglasses, the grillz, the outfits that make her look like she has no neck. Her last era where she looked great was Rebel Heart.

                        • It seems that Madonna has said something in the lines of, I'm just going to realese remixes or singles and videos from now on. That idea of making an album, releasing singles she doesn't want, promoting and touring is tiresome and she's not in to it. Can anyone confirm that she has said this?

No? She said this in the People magazine interview.

"I come from the world [where you] spend years working on a record and releasing, and it goes in cycles," she says. "So you put a record out every three years or something like that, and it's an enormous amount of work. There's good sides and bad sides of TikTok. You know? But to me, the good side is that you don't have to wait so long to release something. You can put something out and you can have an audience instantly and you can get feedback instantly and you don't need a whole huge marketing machine," she adds. "You get people telling you right away whether something's working or not. So it's great to have a new way to get music out."

I wish it was true. I'd love her to do that.

                                • I’ve wanted Madonna to just release random one off singles for years. With no plans to record an album anytime soon it would make sense for her to go down that road, but Madonna has never been a person that makes music for the sake of making music.

Madonna’s too calculating and whilst in the past she has technically done it for soundtracks, most of those songs were completed during album sessions anyway.

There had been nothing stopping Madonna from releasing random songs over the last twenty years. MP3s existed and I think in 2003 she even encouraged fans to pre-order/buy American Life (single) via download from her website (and was then hacked on the day of the album release with links to free downloads posted).

Madonna even gave away Hey You in 2007, pledging to donate $1 for every download made (up to $250k). So the opportunity to do what she’s describing in these new interviews has always existed - in 2007 when she left Warner, she even teased at releasing music in new ways and did nothing different in the end.

I’m all for her doing random sessions and releasing random songs and music, but I just don’t see it. She’s too anal - as soon as she gets inspired she’ll end up making an album like she did after Portugal, and she hasn’t got the time to record and release an album then tour it.
I have a bad feeling about this.

                                  • this artist made a concept for Ray Of Light Special editions reissues of the album and singles. i like it so much if this were to be real i'd spend so much money on it. these are the types of people that madonna team should be hiring.
