The 3CD edition is now at #02 on Amazon US best sellers (and Vinyl at #37).

Hopefully all these pre-orders will be enough to give Madonna another TOP 10 album in US.

This album will do well because Madonna has ALWAYS primarily been a disco artist
She was fortunate because when she hit in the 80s disco was now called dance music but had she released the same debut album in 1978 instead of 1983 she would have been gone quick as she would have been labeled a new disco act and been part of the big anti disco backlash that happened in 1980

Her live versions are almost always better than studio recordings. Although admittedly her vocals vary in quality a lot more.
Next you’ll be telling me you don’t sing Vogue over the intro to Holiday!
Back in the day I played the albums over and over and over and over again. So the album versions are most stuck in my mind. And these days I have favorite versions that end up on my playlists, so those are the ones that get stuck in my mind now. None of them are live versions.Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.

I was reading about the Whitney biopic yesterday and at the same time realized it was Madonna's birthday (both of them August babies!) And that made me think about the titans from that era that are gone. Madonna is still here, and I'm so grateful she is still creating and contributing. Happy birthday, Madonna!

Elvis died on Madonna’s birthday too, and it’s madness to think that he could still be with us in 2022 if he hadn’t gone down the same road (he’d be 87 if he were still around).
Madonna once said that the most controversial thing she’s ever done is to ‘stick around’ and she’s right. She has never allowed her personal life to interfere with her work, she has consistently released music and toured the world, and managed to stay on top into her fifties. She’s never taken a career break, never hidden from the world and even in her sixties, people are still questioning her career choices and passing judgement.
She might have slowed down in recent years, she might take more holidays than she once did, but she’s always cooking up something new… even if something new is really just something old (remixes, re-issues and biopic).
We are lucky to have her, no matter what we think of her. Just look at the retrospective project: she’s personally putting her house in order, finally looking after her legacy - things Prince, Michael and Whitney sadly never got the chance to do.
She continues to know what is required of her, showing she still cares and is committed to being ‘Madonna’. She is an artist, painting her own canvas, creating her own work - and we are all free to look away at any time but no one ever does.
So Madonna, if you’re reading this (I know you visit) drop something new. I’m desperate here and I just kissed your ass pretty well writing this postI have a bad feeling about this.

some kind of ignorant teens or haters come out of nowhere and say she is one hit wonder on youtube. Thats the most studpid and absurd thing i ever heard in pop. No education whatsoever.
I do think their favorite artists could stay and keep up with their career as half long as madonnas and get some mental treatment.
What an artist she is!Last edited by autumnwind; Wed August 17, 2022, 14:38.Madonna is the queen of pop and the biggest selling female music artist of all time!

I do think Madonna is aging differently though because she continues to challenge and perhaps people thought she would mellow out in her 60s. When the sad day comes, which I believe won't be for decades, her impact will be appreciated. I'm just glad most of us here are smart enough to appreciate it while we have it

For all intent and purpose, Mrs Ritchie was a refined, somewhat eloquent, sexy but non-sexual and uncontroversial woman. But when she divorced Guy, she became a pariah for rejecting all that.I have a bad feeling about this.
